Jaguars Erase 27-Point Deficit, Stun Chargers In Wild Card Round
The Jaguars stormed back from a 27-point deficit as they stunned the Chargers 31-30 in the AFC Wild Card round in Jacksonville. Riley Patterson drilled the game-winning 36-yard field in the closing seconds as Jacksonville pulled off the third-largest playoff comeback in NFL history. Trevor Lawrence threw four touchdowns in the second half, after throwing a career-high four interceptions in the first half. Los Angeles built a 27-0 lead in the second quarter, but was held to just three points after halftime. Austin Ekeler rushed for a pair of touchdowns in the losing effort. The Jaguars head back to the Divisional playoff round for the first time since the 2017 season.

Purdy, 49ers Roll Past Seahawks In Wild Card Round
Rookie Brock Purdy threw for 332 yards and three touchdowns as he led the 49ers to a 41-23 win over the Seahawks in the NFC Wild Card round in Santa Clara. Purdy also ran for a score in his NFL playoff debut and became the first rookie QB with four total touchdowns in a playoff game. Deebo Samuel caught six passes for 133 yards and a touchdown in the victory. Seattle led 17-16 going into halftime, but wouldn’t score again until under two minutes left in the fourth quarter. Geno Smith connected twice with DK Metcalf in the end zone, but also threw an interception. The 49ers return to the Divisional round for the second consecutive season.

Bills Edge Dolphins; Advance To Divisional Round
The Bills are moving on to the Divisional round of the NFL playoffs after edging their AFC East rival Miami Dolphins 34-31 in Orchard Park. Josh Allen threw for 352 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions while adding 20 rush yards and a fumble lost which was returned for a TD. Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis combined for 227 receiving yards in the victory. Dolphins backup quarterback Skylar Thompson completed just 18-of-45 passes for one touchdown and two interceptions. Xavien Howard and Jevon Holland each picked off Josh Allen once while Zach Sieler found the end zone on a scoop-and-score. Bills’ safety Damar Hamlin was discharged from the hospital and watched his team earn the playoff victory from home.

Giants Take Down Vikings In Wild Card Round
The Giants are moving onto the divisional round of the NFC playoffs after earning a 31-24 victory over the Minnesota Vikings at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Daniel Jones made his postseason debut and threw for 301 yards and two touchdowns. Jones also carried the ball 17 times for a game-high 78 yards on the ground. Saquon Barkley also scored a pair of touchdowns for the G-Men, who picked up their first playoff win since beating the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 46. Kirk Cousins completed 31 of his 39 pass attempts for 273 yards and a couple of touchdowns. TJ Hockenson led the Vikings with 10 catches for 129 yards. New York will visit the Philadelphia Eagles in the divisional round.

Bengals Beat Ravens, Setting Up Playoff Battle With Bills
The Cincinnati Bengals are advancing to the divisional round of the NFL playoffs. They held on to beat the Baltimore Ravens at home on Sunday night, 24-17. Cincinnati’s victory was highlighted by the defense’s 98-yard fumble return for a touchdown early in the fourth quarter. It also sets up a second round road matchup against the Buffalo Bills, who’re the number two seed in the AFC. Their regular season meeting two weeks ago was not resumed after Bills’ safety Damar Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest during the game.

Buccaneers Host Cowboys To Close Out Wild Card Round
The Cowboys are paying a visit to Tom Brady and the Buccaneers in the NFC Wild Card round. Tampa hosts Dallas on Monday night at Raymond James Stadium. The fourth-seeded Bucs come off a second straight NFC South title, but finished with an 8-and-9 record in the regular season. Brady, who was third in the NFL with nearly 47-hundred passing yards and also threw 25 touchdowns, is 7-and-0 all-time against the Cowboys. Tampa beat the Eagles in the Wild Card round last year, before falling to the Rams in the Divisional round. The Cowboys earned the fifth seed in the NFC after finishing 12-and-5. Dak Prescott led the offense with 23 passing TDs, but also threw 15 interceptions through 12 games. Dallas is trying to avenge its Wild Card loss to the 49ers from last year.

Knicks Top Pistons To Extend Winning Streak
Julius Randle had 42 points and 15 rebounds as the New York Knicks extended their winning streak against the Detroit Pistons to 11 games with a 117-104 victory. Randle put up the first 40/15 game for the Knicks since Patrick Ewing on Jan. 19, 1996. Detroit hasn’t beat the Knicks since November 2019, the end of its eight-game winning streak over New York. Jalen Brunson added 27 points for the Knicks and Immanuel Quickley added 17. Jaden Ivey had 21 points, six rebounds and six assists for the Pistons and Saddiq Bey added 21 points.

Bulls Dominate Second Half In Win Over Warriors
The Bulls had a big second half to beat the Golden State Warriors 132-118 in Chicago. The Bulls outscored Golden State 73-56 after halftime. Nikola Vucevic dominated down low, pouring in 43 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. Zach LaVine chipped in with 27 points. Chicago snapped a three-game losing streak with the victory. Klay Thompson led Golden State with 26 points in the losing effort. Steph Curry had 20. The Warriors have dropped four of their last five.

LeBron James Reaches 38-Thousand Career Points
LeBron James is closing in on the NBA’s all-time scoring record. The Los Angeles Lakers forward reached 38,000 career points in the first quarter of Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers. James became the second player in NBA history to reach 38,000, joining Hall of Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. The former Milwaukee Bucks and Lakers center holds the all-time record with 38,387 points.

Red Wings Open Road Trip Tonight In Colorado
The Red Wings open up a three-game west coast road trip tonight in Colorado against the Avalanche. Detroit will also visit Arizona and Vegas on the trek this week before returning home. The Wings had their two-game winning streak snapped on Saturday by Columbus. They now sit sixth in the Atlantic Division with 43 points.

Michigan Beats Northwestern
Kobe Bufkin scored 20 points, Jett Howard had 16 points and seven assists, and Michigan defeated Northwestern 85-78. There were four ties and seven lead changes in the second half before an 8-0 run by the Wolverines gave them a 68-59 lead near the seven-minute mark. The Wildcats cut their deficit to five points at 72-67 on a Matthew Nicholson layup but Bufkin hit a 3-pointer and Tarris Reed followed with a layup for a 10-point Michigan lead with 2:29 to go. Northwestern got within 79-74 on a layup by Boo Buie with 42 seconds left. Another layup by Buie made it 81-76 before a dunk by Bufkin gave Michigan a seven-point lead with 16 seconds to go.

MSU Hosts Purdue This Afternoon
Michigan State hosts third-ranked Purdue tonight in East Lansing. The Spartans sit at 12-and-5 including 4-and-2 in Big Ten play.

Alabama Basketball Player Charged With Capital Murder
Alabama basketball player Darius Miles is one of two suspects being charged with capital murder in a predawn deadly shooting on the Strip in Tuscaloosa. It was announced Saturday the junior forward was ruled out for the season due to an ankle injury. A little more than 24 hours later, Miles was being led in handcuffs into the Tuscaloosa County Jail. Both Miles and Michael Lynn Davis are charged in the killing of Jamea Jonae Harris.

Georgia Football Player Dies In Car Crash
A Georgia football player is dead following a car accident early Sunday morning. Police say Devin Willock along with a recruiting staff member were killed in Athens after their vehicle veered off the road and struck several poles and trees. The offensive lineman played in all 15 games for the Bulldogs last season. The school said two other members of the football team were involved in the accident and are in stable condition. Police are continuing to investigate.
