#7 Michigan State Upsets #2 Marquette In Second Round
Seventh-seeded Michigan State upset second-seeded Marquette 69-60 in round two of the NCAA tournament in Columbus. Tyson Walker led the Spartans with a game-high 23 points. Michigan State advances to the Sweet Sixteen and will play third-seeded Kansas State on Thursday.

Michigan Season Ends With Loss To Vanderbilt
Michigan’s season is over after losing to Vanderbilt 66-65 in the second round of the NIT on Saturday. Hunter Dickinson racked up 21 points and 11 rebounds to lead UM, which ends the year at 18-and-16.

Tigers Lose To Nationals
The Tigers’ bats were quiet in a 2-1 loss to the Nationals in Palm Beach. Spencer Torkelson drove in the lone run for Detroit, while starter Eduardo Rodriguez pitched scoreless ball into the fifth inning. The Tigers host the Blue Jays today.

Cubs Walk-Off Padres
The Cubs walked-off the San Diego Padres in a 5-2 win in Spring Training yesterday. Nelson Velazquez won the game with a three-run home run in the bottom of the ninth. Yan Gomes also went deep in the victory, while Justin Steele gave up just one run in three innings of work. The Cubs improved to 11-and-10 in exhibition play. Chicago visits the Royals tomorrow night.

White Sox Beat Mariners
The White Sox took down the Seattle Mariners 6-2 in Spring Training yesterday. Seby Zavala and Oscar Colas both went deep in the victory. Dylan Cease earned the win after striking out six over four innings of one-run ball. The Southsiders are 9-and-8 in exhibition play. The Sox host the Diamondbacks today.

World Baseball Classic Recap
The United States clinched a spot in the World Baseball Classic Final with a dominant 14-2 victory over Cuba in Miami. Paul Goldschmidt got the scoring started with a two-run homer in the first inning that put the U.S. ahead 2-1. Trea Turner homered twice and tied Goldschmidt for the team-lead with four RBI. Adam Wainwright earned the win on the mound after allowing one earned run in four innings. The USA will face the winner of tonight’s WBC semifinal matchup between Japan and Mexico.

Lions Sign CJ Gardner-Johnson

The Lions are making a big move in free agency. ESPN reports CJ Gardner-Johnson has agreed to a one-year, eight-million-dollar deal to join Detroit. The 25-year-old was part of an Eagles defense which allowed the fewest passing yards per game during the regular season last year. The defensive back had six interceptions despite missing five games with a kidney injury.

Joey Logano Wins Ambetter Health 400

Joey Logano is celebrating his first NASCAR Cup series win of the season following a victory in the Ambetter Health 400. Brad Keselowski, Christopher Bell, Corey LaJoie and Tyler Reddick rounded out the top five finishers at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Logano made a last lap pass of Keselowski to take home the checkered flag. Will Byron missed out on his chance for a third straight win after he was involved in a 12-car accident which also included Kevin Harvick. The field will turn their attention to Austin for the EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix next weekend.

Taylor Moore Wins 2023 Valspar Championship
Taylor Moore is celebrating his first PGA Tour victory after winning the 2023 Valspar Championship. Moore shot a 67 in the final round to finish the weekend atop the leaderboard at 10 under par. Adam Schenk finished in second-place at nine under. Tommy Fleetwood and Jordan Spieth finished tied for third-place at eight under. Two-time defending champion Sam Burns finished in sixth-place at five under for the tournament.
