St. Joseph 8, South Haven 7 – 8 Innings
Evan Wilson’s RBI single in the top of the 8th inning gave St. Joe an 8-7 District quarterfinal win over South Haven. The Rams tied the game with two out in the bottom of the 7th after Rex Dopp reached on an error and then scored on Andis Klavins’ RBI single. St. Joe scored five runs in the top of the 2nd, but the Rams cut the lead to a single run with four runs in the bottom of the inning.
Eric Engel was 2 of 4 for the Bears with a home run. Trenton Smiley was 4 of 5 with three RBIs to lead the Rams. Jake Mavis allowed one unearned run over the last three innings to get the win. Alec Washegesic took the loss. St. Joe advances to face Lakeshore in the District semifinal Saturday at
noon in South Haven.
