Boys Basketball
Benton Harbor 88, South Bend Clay 58

  • Benton Harbor took its undefeated record to South Bend last night and returned home still unbeaten as they defeated Clay 88-58.  The Tigers opened the game on a 10-0 run.  The Colonials crept to within two in the second quarter, but Benton Harbor steadily pulled away from there, taking a 15 point halftime lead. Carlos Johnson and Dennie Brown each scored 15 points for the Tigers.  Clay also got 15 from Allan Prestly. With the win, Benton Harbor improves to 13-0 on the season.  Clay falls to 1-13.

St. Joseph 37, Kalamazoo Loy Norrix 34

  • Despite being held scoreless in the second quarter and trailing by 5 heading into the final quarter. St. Joe improved to 10-1 with a 37-34 win at Kalamazoo Loy Norrix.  Izak Ruddell scored 11 of his game high 14 points in the first quarter to lead the Bears.

Lakeshore 57, Gull Lake 38

  • Lakeshore had three players in double figures in a 57-38 win over Gull Lake.  Micah Seats had 16 points to lead the Lancers, scoring 13 in the third quarter.  J.J. Bushu and Austin Kaiser each added 11 points.

Michigan Lutheran 52, Heritage Christian 26

  • Nathan Brown had a game high 14 points while Kasen Kerns added 10 as Michigan Lutheran doubled up Kalamazoo Heritage Christian 52-26.

South Haven 61, Holland 48

  • South Haven Rams ended a three-game losing skid, beating non-conference Holland 61 to 48.  Senior forward Caleb Ford led all scorers with 16 points.  Dutch forward RJ Smith had 15 in the losing cause.  The Rams host Paw Paw this Friday night, and we’ll have that game on CoSY-FM, starting at 7:15 with the pre-game.

St. Joseph 62, Kalamazoo Loy Norrix 41

  • St. Joe got a game high 23 points from Anna Fischer as the Lady Bears beat Kalamazoo Loy Norrix 62-41.  Katie Algyre added 13 points as St. Joe improves to 12-2.  Falon Williams had 14 to lead Loy Norrix.

Lakeshore 48, Gull Lake 45 – 2 OT

  • Cassie Pallett’s three pointer with 2.7 seconds left was part of her game high 19 points and was the game winning shot as Lakeshore defeated Gull Lake in double overtime.  Natalie Stampfly added 15 points for the Lancers.

Benton Harbor 39, Michigan Lutheran 36

  • Benton Harbor picked up their 2nd win of the season while handing Michigan Lutheran their 2nd loss of the season with a 39-36 win.  Shaliyah Perkins had 11 points to lead the Tigers, while Amesheonna Cannon added 10.  Sarah Jackemeyer led all scorers with 15 points in the loss for Michigan Lutheran.

Dowagiac 51, Bridgman 38

  • Amiyah Smith led Dowagiac with 19 points to lead the Chieftains to a 51-38 win over Bridgman.  Kellyn Daly had 10.  Lauren Keller had 12 to lead the Bees in the loss.

Berrien Springs 54, Watervliet 46

  • Berrien Springs got 28 points from Kyrah Sanders in a 54-46 win over Watervliet.  Hillary Dortch added 10 for the Shamrocks in the win.  Ariana Rose had 19 points to lead Watervliet while Jaelyn Pitra scored 10.

Hartford 47, Mendon 27

  • AJ Jackson had 17 points and 8 rebounds, leading Hartford to a 47-27 win over Mendon.  Hartford is now 11-2.

Battle Creek Central 50, Niles 42

  • Alycia Patterson’s game high 25 points was not enough as Niles fell to Battle Creek Central 50-42.  Arieona Ware had 21 points in the win for the Bearcats.
