BOYS BASKETBALL

St. Joseph 61,  Gull Lake 54
Jordan Brewer scored 14 of his team high 21 points in the second half as St. Joe beat Gull Lake 61-54. Mac Shimulunas added 13 and Sam Szwabowski scored 11 for St. Joe, who improves to 4-2 . Gull Lake is now 0-6.

Lakeshore 65,  Loy Norrix 45
Logan Steffes had 19 points, 7 steals, and 7 assists in Lakeshore’s 65-45 win over Kalamazoo Loy Norrix. Rubin Conway had a double double with 15 points and 10 rebounds

Benton Harbor 70,  Battle Creek Central 62
Curtis Dawson led Benton Harbor with 27 points at the Tigers defeated Battle Creek Central 70-62. Jaton Gunn added 23 points for the Tigers.

New Buffalo 64,  Kalamazoo Hackett 40
New Buffalo overcame a sluggish first quarter to beat Kalamazoo Hackett 64-40. The Bison trailed 19-12 after one, but outscored the Irish 15-5 in the second and pulled away from there. Jarek Hotwagner led New Buffalo with 19 points and 18 rebounds.

St. Joseph 49,  Gull Lake 40
Shelby Madison had 18 points and seven rebounds while Katie Algyre scored 9 points and had 5 assists as St. Joe won 49-40 at Gull Lake.

Benton Harbor 77,  Battle Creek Central 65
Kysre Gondrezick had a game high 50 points as Benton Harbor beat Battle Creek Central 77-65.

Lakeshore 60,  Loy Norrix 49
Morgan Kaiser had 18 points, while Carley Dubbert scored 13 points as Lakeshore defeated Kalamazoo Loy Norrix 60-49.

Michigan Lutheran 51,  Grace Christian 16
Michigan Lutheran got a game high 18 points from Emily Witkowski as the Lady Titans defeated Watervliet Grace Christian 51-16. Olivia Gallager added 13 for Lutheran, which improves its record to 4-1.

Eau Claire 56,  Countryside Academy 49
Eau Claire got 30 points and four rebounds from Taylor Dustin in a 56-49 win over Countryside Academy. Michelle King added six points and five rebounds for Eau Claire, who improves to 2-2 in the Red Arrow Conference and 2-5 overall.

Buchanan 52,  South Haven 29
Jayla Bibbs poured in 15 points as Buchanan beat South Haven 52-29. Brooke Wesner added 11 points for the Bucks. South Haven got 12 points from Alaina Johnson. With the win, Buchanan improves to 7-1 on the season. South Haven falls to 5-3.

Decatur 37,  Watervliet 31
Decatur remained unbeaten with a 37-31 win over Watervliet. The panthers took a one point lead into halftime but were outscored by the Raiders 19-14 in the 4th quarter. Watervliet got eight points from Katie Schultz and six from Casie Gohr.

Niles 61,  Mattawan 54
Niles finished strong and pulled out a 61-54 win over Mattawan. Jazmin Brann and Elyse Zimmerman led a balanced attack for Niles 17 and 15 points respectively. Mattawan got a game high 22 points from Brooke Ditto.
