NFL – New Chicago Bears coach and GM focus on making big changes
New Bears head coach Matt Eberflus and GM Ryan Poles are focused on laying a foundation for future success whether it’s by installing a new 4-3 defense or with a different offense under new coordinator Luke Getsy. The top two Bears decision makers met with reporters on Monday for the first time and gave their vision of where the team needs to go in the 2022 season, with a heavy emphasis on quarterback Justin Fields. NFL – Tom Brady says he’s still evaluating his future plans
Tom Brady says he’s still evaluating his future and the seven-time Super Bowl champion isn’t ready to make a decision about retirement. Speaking on his SiriusXM podcast, Brady said: “I think when the time is right, I’ll be ready to make a decision, one way or the other.” The 44-year-old quarterback has already stated a desire to spend more time with his wife, supermodel Gisele Bundchen, and three children. He’s under contract for 2022 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and is coming off one of the best seasons in his 22-year career. “I understand my decision affects a lot of people’s lives so when that decision comes, it’ll come,” Brady said.

MLB – MLB lockout talks to resume Tuesday as spring training nears
Baseball labor negotiations are set to resume Tuesday, just over two weeks before the scheduled start of a spring training that’s threatened by a lockout. The sport’s ninth work stoppage began Dec. 2 after the expiration of a five-year labor contract. The sides did not meet again on the central economic issues until Jan. 24, when players withdrew their proposal for more liberalized free agency. Management responded the following day by withdrawing its proposal for more limited salary arbitration. Tuesday’s session will be the first on the central issues since then and the sides are apart on many economic proposals.

The announcement Monday said plans for the FanDuel Sportsbook at the United Center include a two-story venue adjacent to the arena’s atrium. It would be equipped with state-of-the-art viewing and sports wagering technology.

Among the provisions is a minimum salary of $35,000, which is a nearly 60% increase, with 4% yearly raises. All players also will see eight weeks paid parental leave, retirement fund contributions, life and health insurance and housing.
