Tigers send Wilson and Avila to Cubs

The Chicago Cubs and the Detroit Tigers have finalized a trade ahead of today’s Major League Baseball trade deadline. The Tigers will be sending Catcher Alex Avila and Pitcher Justin Wilson to the Cubs. In exchange, the Cubs have deal two minor leaguers to Detroit, they are Infielder Jeimer Candelario, who is currently with the AAA Iowa Cubs. As well as Shortshop Isaac Paredes, who is currently in Single A with the South Bend Cubs. There is also a player to be named later. Candelario is currently hitting .270 in 80 games with the Iowa Cubs, he has 52 RBI’s and has hit 12 home runs, but he does have 72 strikeouts, which is the third most on the club. Paredes has played in 92 games with the South Bend Cubs, with a batting average of .264 with 49 RBI’s, 7 home runs, with 54 strike outs. MLB’s trade deadline is at 4:00 p.m. today.
