THURSDAY’S RESULTS

SOCCER DISTRICT OPENERS
Michigan Lutheran 9, Lawton 0
Ellie Primerano led the Titans with six goals and one assist. Lutheran also got goals from Alaina Lemke, Dimercia Mbayo, and Reese Maas.

 

Bridgman 2, New Buffalo 1
Olivia Tomlin and Grace Tate both finished with a goal and an assist for Bridgman.

BASEBALL
Dowagiac 11, Decatur 2 – Game 1
The Chieftains opened the game with four runs in the top of the 1st inning and continued to pull away from there. At the plate, Henry Weller collected three hits for Dowagiac. On the mound, he went the distance to pick up the win. Gavin Boodt and Landon Fisher each drove in a run in the loss for Decatur.
Dowagiac 7, Decatur 3 – Game 2
The Chieftains once again started strong, scoring three runs in the 1st inning. They then added four more in the 6th. Dowagiac got four hits from Cole Weller and three RBIs from Kanyon Binns. Brandon Bruno, Alex Smith, and Jesus Hurtado each drove in a run for Decatur.

SOFTBALL
Watervliet 11, Hackett 1 – Game 1
The Panthers finished with 14 hits in the game, including two each from Sammy Dietz, MJ Flowers, Hannah Hart, and Jaylie Querfurth. Haiden Edelberg recorded six strikeouts in picking up the win.
Watervliet 10, Hackett 0 – Game 2
The Panthers started early with a two run 1st inning. They went on to score three in the 2nd and five in the 5th to bring an early end to the game. Hannah Hart allowed just one hit over four innings to earn the win. Watervliet ends the regular season at 30-6.

 

River Valley 16, Howardsville Christian 0 – Game 1
Three runs in the 1st inning and 13 in the 2nd for River Valley led to an early end to the game. Hanah Lynch finished with three hits and four RBIs. Macey Springer earned the win, striking out five over two innings.
River Valley 12, Howardsville Christian 0 – Game 2
Alexis McCarty led the Mustangs’ offensive attack with four hits and three RBIs. She also pitched four innings, allowing just one hit, in picking up the win.

 

South Haven 15, Martin 0 – Game 1
The Rams started the scoring with a run in the bottom of the 2nd inning and then added six runs in the 3rd inning and eight in the 4th. Jordyn Holland, Kamryn Holland, and Taylor Holland each drove in three runs. Lexie Young finished with two RBIs. Lexie Young picked up the win, striking out seven over four innings.
South Haven 19, Martin 4 – Game 2
The Rams opened with three runs in the 1st inning and cruised from there. Kadyn Hoyt and Alley Woodall both drove in three runs for South Haven with Karlie Woodall, Alexis Eddy, and Dakota Ransom each adding two RBIs. Kadyn Hoyt earned the win in the circle.

 

Dowagiac 5, Decatur 0 – Game 1
The Chieftains jumped out to a 2-0 1st inning lead and continued to slowly pull away from there. Sierra Carpenter drove in four of the five runs. She also pitched a complete game three hitter to earn the win.
Decatur 8, Dowagiac 7 – Game 2
Trailing 5-4, Dowagiac scored three runs in the top of the 7th inning to take a two run lead. Decatur then responded with three runs in the bottom of the inning to pull it out. Mollie Latham drove in three runs for Decatur. Sierra Carpenter and Anna Dobberstein each drove in two runs in the loss for the Chieftains.
