Skyler Arthur of St. Joseph High School Cross Country is Berrien County’s Student Athlete of the Week for the week of October 5, 2014. Skyler won the 17 team Rock N’ Run Invitational with a time of 16:00. In the process, he led his team to a first place finish. The previous week, at the 44 team Portage Invitational Division 2 race, he won the individual title with a time of 15:43.4.
Skyler is also a member of the varsity track team where he earned All-State honors in the 3200 Meter Run and was a state qualifier in the 3200 Meter Relay.
Skyler is the son of Michael and Kathy Arthur of Eau Claire.
Other finalists for the week were Kaitlin Newton of St. Joe Cross Country and Andrew Duckett of Brandywine Football.
