Preston Nichols – Berrien County Student Athlete of the Week

Preston Nichols of St. Joseph High School Track is the WSJM Sports Berrien County Student Athlete of the Week for the week of April 18, 2021.

At the Allegan Invitational, Preston won the 100 Meter dash with a time of :10.71. He won the 200 Meter dash with a time of :22.38, but his prelim. time was :22, which broke a meet record and tied a St. Joe school record. He also ran a leg for the 400 Meter Relay team that broke a meet and St. Joe school record with a time of :43.17. Preston currently has the top time in the state in the 100 and 200 Meter Dashes, and the 400 Meter Relay team also has the top time in the state.

Preston is also a member of the baseball, football, and soccer teams, and National Honor Society. In the classroom, he carries a 4.12 grade point average.

Preston is the son of Shawn and Michelle Nichols.

Other finalists for the week were Grace Constable of Berrien Springs Track, Emma Lantz of New Buffalo Track, and Karly Klaer of St. Joe Track.
