MONDAY’S RESULTS

BASEBALL
Loy Norrix 10, St. Joe 8 – Game 1
St. Joe scored five runs in the top of the 6th inning to take an 8-5 lead, but the Knights responded with five runs in the bottom of the inning to regain the lead. Norrix held on in the 7th inning to pull out the win. Preston Nichols went 3-3 at the plate with two RBIs and two runs scored in the loss for St. Joe. Also for the Bears, Owen Kelly went 3-4 at the plate with a run scored.
St. Joe 15, Loy Norrix 0 – Game 2
Andrew Barlow shut Loy Norrix down, allowing just one hit over four innings in picking up the win for St. Joe. Offensively for the Bears, Carter Vonk, Benson Holleman, and Russell Ebbert each drove in two runs, with Troy Pratley and Benson Holleman both scoring three times.

 

Watervliet 8, Kalamazoo Christian 4 – Game 1
The Panthers scored five of their eight runs in the opening two innings. Andrew Chisek led Watervliet with picking up the win on the mound and collecting three hits at the plate. Wyatt Epple and Ethan Fish each added two hits for the Panthers.
Watervliet 9, Kalamazoo Christian 4 – Game 2
Already leading 4-3, Watervliet pulled away with two runs in the 3rd inning and three in the 4th. Chase Tremblay got the win on the mound with relief from Wyatt Epple. At the plate, Josh Reeves scattered three hits while Bryton Cockrun and Evan Hutchins both doubled. With the doubleheader sweep, Watervliet improves to 6-0 in the SAC Lakeshore Division and 12-5 on the season.

 

Decatur 10, Cassopolis 0 – Game 1
The Raiders broke the game open with four runs in the 4th inning and three more in the 5th. Ethan Makowski and Brandon Bruno each drove in three runs for Decatur. Andrew Confer went 3-3 at the plate with two RBIs. Bruno tossed four scoreless innings in picking up the win.
Decatur 4, Cassopolis 3 – Game 2
Cassopolis scored three runs in the 1st inning, but Decatur rallied with two runs in the 3rd inning and two in the 6th. Landon Fisher tripled and scored a run for the Raiders. Ethan Makowski allowed one hit over five innings in picking up the win.

SOFTBALL
Michigan Lutheran 17, Eau Claire 2 – Game 1
The Titans broke out with five runs in the 1st inning and eight in the 2nd. Alexia Tobias collected three of Lutheran’s 11 hits. Jayden Beck, Kennedy Stillson, and Camari Whitehead each drove in two runs for the Titans. Ali Ferry went 2-2 at the plate with an RBI in the loss for Eau Claire. Emilee Demski drove in the Beavers’ other run. Hannah Tahaney got the win in the circle for Lutheran.
Michigan Lutheran 21, Eau Claire 2 – Game 2
Lutheran started strong again, with 17 runs in the 1st inning. Natalie Ritter, Hannah Tahaney, and Alexia Tobias each drove in three runs. Ali Ferry went 1-2 at the plate for Eau Claire with a run scored. Tobias picked up the win in the circle for the Titans.

 

Watervliet 8, Kalamazoo Christian 3 – Game 1
With the game tied 2-2, Watervliet scored four runs in the 5th inning and two in the 6th to pull it out. MJ Flowers and Abby Whorton both collected two hits for the Panthers. Haiden Edelberg went the distance, striking out five, in picking up the win.
Kalamazoo Christian 13, Watervliet 12 – Game 2 (9 innings)
Christian won the back-and-forth battle when Aubrey Herder singled home the winning run in the 9th inning.

 

Decatur 12, Cassopolis 2 – Game 1
With the game tied 2-2, the Raiders scored once in the 2nd inning, four times in the 3rd, and cruised from there. Morgan Hall and Riley Coulson each drove in three runs for Decatur. Cecilia Conforti allowed three hits over six innings in picking up the win.
Decatur 6, Cassopolis 0 – Game 2
Morgan Hall and Emma Madden each scored twice in leading the Raiders to the win. Breanna Franks threw seven scoreless innings in picking up the win.

In a battle where neither team could find the back of the net, Elana Mitchell notched her sixth shutout of the season for the Lancers.

 

Lake Michigan Catholic 4, New Buffalo 0
The shorthanded Lakers pressed offensively the entire match as New Buffalo did not attempt to attack, electing to keep their team back on defense. Catholic found the net once in the first half as Maggie Tidey broke through on a pass from Mary Riley. The Lakers would get three more goals from Tidey in the second half to pull out the 4-0 win. Mary Riley finished with two assists.

 

Michigan Lutheran 12, Buchanan 6
Ellie Primerano scored eight of the Titans’ 12 goals. Lutheran also got two goals from Autumn McCune and one each from Sydney Buch and Katie Marquardt.

 

Comstock 5, Bridgman 3
Comstock started strong, scoring four of their five goals in the first half. Olivia Tomlin, Lily Badger, and Graci Tate each scored in the loss for Bridgman.
