Lake Michigan College’s athletic department was named as the Michigan Community College Athletic Association’s Academic School of the Year for the 2021-22 season. Schools are ranked on a point system for each of the sports that college supports. Lake Michigan College Redhawks teams had 5 of their 7 sports teams with a GPA at 3.0 or higher, which also earns them a MCCAA All-Academic team. The announcement was made and the conference’s annual summer meeting. The MCCAA Academic School of the Year award was started last year.
