Lakeshore trailed Trenton 2-0 heading after the bottom of the 4th inning, but Lakeshore not only tied the game but took the lead in the 5th inning with three runs on their way to a 6-2 win over the Trojans to win the 2022 MHSAA Division 2 State Championship in softball. Gabby Solloway single scored two runs, and she would score on an error to give the Lancers a 3-2 lead. Olivia DenDooven drove in Pallas Dominion in the 6th on a fielders choice. Solloway drove in another run in the 7th and again scored on a SAC fly be Eden Gray. Lakeshore concludes the season at 41-4 and wins the 8th state title in program history. Trenton falls to 34-11.
