River Valley 6,   Niles 5
River Valley opened the season with a 6-5 non-conference win over Niles.  Emma Whitlow and Erica Zandarski each drove in two runs for the Mustangs. The Vikings rallied with three runs in the top of the 6th, but fell just short.

BASEBALL
Lawrence swept a doubleheader from New Buffalo. In game one the Tigers scored seven runs in the top of the 7th to come from behind winning 8-6. Hunter Coombs pitched a complete game for Lawrence while Larry Glista led the offense with two hits and 2 RBIs. In the second game Dylan Matheny pitched 3 scoreless innings for Lawrence to pick up his first varsity win. Offensively for the Tigers, Jacob Alburtus and Andrew Lowe knocked in a run each.
