H.S. Sports Results From Saturday, April 11

 

BASEBALL
Lake Michigan Catholic Laker Invitational
Watervliet 15, Lake Michigan Catholic 11
Trailing 9-0 after four innings, Watervliet scored six runs in the fifth, six more in the sixth, and three in the seventh to rally and beat Lake Michigan Catholic 15-11 in the tournament opener.  Cameron Rendo earned the win on the mound for the Panthers.
Coloma 4, Watervliet 0
Coloma blanked Watervliet 4-0 in game two of the tournament.  Caleb Hester threw a complete game no-hitter for the Comets to pick up the win.  Ashton Holdridge suffered the loss for the Panthers.
Lake Michigan Catholic 9, Coloma 3
In game three of the tournament, Catholic pounded out 14 hits in a 9-3 win over Coloma.  Kyle Juza earned the win on the mound for the Lakers with Ryan Stachowski picking up the save.  Brad Page suffered the loss for the Comets.
With all three teams finishing at 1-1 on the day, Catholic won the tournament title based on run differential.

Buchanan 10, Berrien Springs 0
Dalton Riddle collected a double and a triple as Buchanan defeated Berrien Springs 10-0.  Kyle Leazenby allowed just three hits in five innings to pick up the win for the Bucks.

Buchanan 7, Bridgman 5
Buchanan broke a 4-4 tie with three runs in the top of the fifth inning to come away with a 7-5 win over Bridgman.  Dyson Phillips earned the win on the mound for the Bucks.


SOFTBALL

Bridgman 11, Berrien Springs 0
Bridgman 11, Berrien Springs 1
Bridgman swept a BCS Softball doubleheader from Berrien Springs.  In game one, the Bees scored one run in the first and then added five in the third and five more in the fourth to earn an 11-0 win.
In game two, Bridgman earned the sweep with an 11-1 win over the Shamrocks.  The Bees plated three runs in the first and added eight more over in the next three innings.


SOCCER

Michigan Lutheran 4, New Buffalo 0
Michigan Lutheran opened its soccer season with a 4-0 win at New Buffalo.  Hailey Maas scored all four goals for the Titans while Courtney Ritter collected two assists with Emily Witkowski adding one.  Lutheran finished with 17 shots on goal with New Buffalo gathering three.
