BOYS
Benton Harbor 49,  Lakeshore 44   OT
Benton Harbor escaped with a 49-44 overtime win at Lakeshore to remain undefeated on the season. The game was close throughout with the five point final margin being the biggest lead either team had all night. Shawn Hopkins led the Tigers with 18 points with Roy Anderson and Carlos Johnson each adding ten. Lakeshore got 18 points from Max Gaishin and 12 from Luc Meyer.

St. Joe 47,  Niles 41
Although St. Joe never trailed, the Bears saw their lead shrink to just two points in the final minutes before pulling away for a 47-41 road win at Niles. Michael Hunn had a game high 14 points to lead St. Joe. Cade Shimulunas added 13. St. Joe is now 3-3 and 2-0 in SMAC West play. Robert Brown and Bryce Lake had 9 each to lead Niles.

Michigan Lutheran 39,  River Valley 29
Michigan Lutheran scored a 39-29 BCS White Division win over River Valley. The Titan defense allowed the Mustangs just two points in the third quarter as they built a 15 point advantage. Jeremy Tolsma paced Lutheran with ten points.

New Buffalo 66,  White Pigeon 35
Seth Margaritis led three players in double figures as New Buffalo cruised to a 66-35 win over White Pigeon. The Bison put the game away in the second and third quarters, outscoring Chiefs by 23 over the 16 minute stretch. Behind Margaritis, Julian Hymes scored 13 points for New Buffalo while Gaige Rice added 11.

Vicksburg 65,  Dowagiac 56
A strong first half propelled Vicksburg to a 65-56 win over Dowagiac. The Bulldogs outscored the Chieftains 21-17 in the first quarter and 18-7 in the second. Dowagiac mounted a second half comeback, but couldn’t overcome the 15 point halftime deficit. Deondre Lovell led Vicksburg with a game high 30 points. Shaquan Stanback scored 18 points in the loss for Dowagiac.

Martin 64,  Decatur 26
Tanner Curry poured in 17 points to help lift Martin to a 64-26 win over Decatur. The Clippers led by five after the first quarter and steadily pulled away from there. Payton Hoekstra scored 14 points in the loss for the Raiders.

GIRLS
Lakeshore 71,  Benton Harbor 15
Lakeshore scored a 71-15 win over Benton Harbor. The Lancer defense forced the Tigers into 50 turnovers on the night and scored 25 points off of those turnovers. Cassie Pallett led three Lancers in double figures with a game high 21 points. Sarah Dubbert added 16 and El Tyler ten for Lakeshore. Tamara Cloy paced Benton harbor with five points.

St. Joe 69,  Niles 53
St. Joe improved to 7-2 on the season and 3-0 in SMAC West Division play after a 69-53 win at Niles. Shelby Madison led the Lady Bears with a game high 26 points. Anna Fischer added 17 and Katie Algyre had 14 in the win. Emily Gaines had 22 to lead Niles.

Watervliet 48,  Hartford 44
Watervliet held on for a 48-44 win over SAC rival Hartford. The Panthers held a ten point lead at the half. The Indians then outscored Watervliet by six in the third quarter before the two teams played even in the fourth. Logan Mizwicki led the Panthers with 14 points and 15 rebounds. Katie Schultz added 9 points and 4 steals. Watervliet improves to 7-3 on the season and 6-0 in the SAC Lakeshore Division.

Lawrence 60,  Bloomingdale 38
Kaytlyn Tidey and Daelynn Jackson-Peek combined for 43 points as Lawrence defeated Bloomingdale 60-38. The Tigers grabbed a five point lead after the first quarter and steadily pulled away from there. Tidey led the way with a game high 22 points with Jackson-Peek finishing with 21.

Vicksburg 43,  Dowagiac 31
Grace Welch scored a game high 14 points in helping lift Vicksburg to a 43-31 win over Dowagiac. The Chieftains led by two at the half, but the Bulldogs outscored them by 11 in the pivotal third quarter. Amiyah Smith led Dowagiac with 13 points.
