TUESDAY’S SCHEDULE…

BOYS BASKETALL
Lakeshore 54, Battle Creek Central 33
The Lancer defense led the way in picking up the SMAC non-division win. Central was limited to just 14 first half points and managed just four in the third quarter. Offensively, JJ Bushu scored a game high 15 points for Lakeshore, Ben Brower added 12. Kieaunta Whittaker finished with nine points for the Bearcats. With the win, the Lancers improve to 3-0. Central falls to 1-2.

Kalamazoo Central 49, St. Joe 33
The Maroon Giants set the tone early, jumping out to a nine point lead after the first quarter and building it to 17 at the half. Jeremiah Sterling finished with nine points, two assists, and two steals in the loss for St. Joe.

Loy Norrix 65, Niles 50
The Knights used their transition game to speed past Niles and build a 13 points lead at the half. Niles made a strong run in the second half to cut the deficit to eight, but couldn’t finish the comeback bid. Mari Nichols and Joey Bartkowiak each scored 11 points for Niles.

New Buffalo 45, Lawrence 39
Kaleb Smith scored 11 points in the loss for Lawrence.

Gobles 72, Galesburg-Augusta 37
Jake Getman led the Tigers’ attack with 18 points, seven rebounds, and four steals. Gobles also got 16 points from Hunter Tenbusschen and 15 from Karsen Tackett.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Kalamazoo Central 80, St. Joe 63
A 24 point first quarter helped propel the Maroon Giants past St. Joe. The Bears trailed by 14 after the first and it proved to be too much of a deficit to make up. Caroline Veine led three Bears in double figures with 19 points. Central got a game high 34 points from Alaila Walker.

Constantine 57, Berrien Springs 25
After an evenly played first quarter, Constantine took control in the second, outscoring the Shamrocks by ten. From there, the Falcons were able to slowly pull away. Zoe Dortch and Maggie Griffiths each scored eight points in the loss for Berrien Springs.
