BOYS BASKETBALL – Earl McKee Holiday Tournament
Benton Harbor 81, Paw Paw 57
Benton Harbor captured the title of their Earl McKee Holiday Tournament with an 81-57 win over Paw Paw Wednesday night. The Tigers weren’t able to pull away from the Redskins until the 4th quarter where they outscored Paw Paw 27-11. Benton Harbor had three players score in double figures. Shawn Hopkins led the way with a game high 19 points, Roy Anderson and Carlos Johnson each added 15. Jai Johnson scored 16 points in the loss for Paw Paw.
Coloma 48, Bridgman 40 OT
Coloma rallied for a 48-40 overtime win over Bridgman in the consolation game of the Earl McKee Holiday Tournament. Bridgman led by as many as nine points, but the Comets battled to tie the game at 35 and force the extra period. Tevon Blazier scored six of his 11 points in overtime to help lift Coloma to the win. Zach Goodline led Coloma with a game high 18 points. Hunter Adams paced Bridgman with 12 points.
GIRLS BASKETBALL – Loy Norrix Holiday Tournament
Lakeshore 61, Loy Norrix 13
Lakeshore captured the title of the Loy Norrix Holiday Tournament in Kalamazoo Wednesday night with a 61-13 win over Loy Norrix. Similar to Tuesday night, the Lancers benefitted from a strong start as they took a ten point lead after the 1st quarter. They extended that to a 25 point lead at the half and continued to pull away from there. Cassie Pallet led the Lancers with a game high 15 points and earned tournament MVP honors. Taylor Wagner added 11 points for Lakeshore.
Also at the Loy Norrix Tournament, the Benton Harbor Lady Tigers defeated Grand Rapids Union 50-48.
