BOYS BASKETBALL
Lake Michigan Catholic 66,  Michigan Lutheran 39
Lake Michigan Catholic started strong in pulling away with a 66-39 win over Michigan Lutheran. The Lakers jumped out to a 15 point lead after the first quarter and forced the Titans to play catch-up all night. Corey Seger led Catholic with a game high 22 points. Tommy Koenig added 14 for the Lakers. Lutheran got 14 points from Zeb Pappenfuss and eight from Kevin Skorupa.

Coloma 74,  Martin 51
Coloma improved to 3-0 with a 74-51 win over Martin. Leading by nine at the half, the Comets pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring Martin 19-8. Zach Goodline poured in a game high 32 points for Coloma with Tevon Blazier adding ten.

White Pigeon 62,  Eau Claire 36
Eau Claire fell into an early hole and wasn’t able to climb out as they dropped a 62-36 decision to White Pigeon. The Beavers trailed by 12 after the first quarter and by 20 at the half. Marquis Hackney scored 13 points in the loss for Ear Claire, Austin Dohm added ten.

New Buffalo 87,  Howardsville Christian 79
New Buffalo rallied for an 87-79 win over Howardsville Christian. The Eagles ran out to a 13 point lead after one quarter, but the Bison managed to tie it at the half. New Buffalo then took a three point lead after three quarters and hung on in the end. Ryan Butler led the Bison with 25 points. Seth Margaritis and Julian Hymes added 21 and 20 points respectively. Dylan Jergens poured in a game high 36 points for Christian.

Marcellus 64,  Hartofrd 49
Hartford suffered from a cold shooting night in a 64-49 loss to Marcellus. The Indians were forced to play catch-up all night, trailing by four after one quarter and seven at the half. The Wildcats were finally able to pull away in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Indians by seven over the final eight minutes.

Three Rivers 66,  Edwardsburg 48
Edwardsburg fell victim to a poor third quarter as they fell to Three Rivers 66-48. The Wildcats led by just six at the half, but came out of the intermission and outscored the Eddies by 15 in the third. Ryan Pabreza led Edwardsburg with ten points, Tre Harvey and Ben Kubal each added nine. Three Rivers got a game high 15 points from Tirrel Hausmanis.

Saugatuck 63,  Gobles 48
Gobles fell to Saugatuck 63-48, despite 22 points, seven rebounds, four blocks, and four steals from Peyton Austin. Tyler Stedman added 14 points in the loss for the Tigers.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Michigan Lutheran 66,  Lake Michigan Catholic 25
Michigan Lutheran improved to 4-1 on the season with a 54-25 win over Lake Michigan Catholic. The Titans defensive pressure along with five three pointers on the other end proved to be too much for the Lakers. Jessi Jewell led Lutheran with a game high 14 points with Sarah Jackemeyer adding 11. Emily Lage paced Catholic with nine points.

Coloma 53,  Martin 45
Morgan Wagner scored a game high 20 points in helping Coloma post a 53-45 win over Martin. Leading by a single point at the half, the Comets built the lead to three after three quarters and then outscored Martin by five in the forth. Kayla Yore added 15 points for Coloma. Faith Guritz led Martin with 13.

Watervliet 65,  Fennville 56
Zoe Smith hit four 3 pointers as she helped lead Watervliet to a 65-56 win over Fennville. The Panthers seemed to break the game open in the third quarter, outscoring the Blackhawks 27-12. Fennville mounted a comeback, outscoring Watervliet 21-6 in the fourth, but the rally fell short as the Panthers improve to 3-1 on the season and 3-0 in the SAC Lakeshore Division.

Parchment 48,  Berrien Springs 34
Parchment pulled away in the second half as they topped Berrien Springs 48-34. The Shamrocks trailed by just four at the half, but let it slip away over the final 16 minutes. Kyrah Sanders finished with nine points in the loss for Berrien Springs.

Portage Central 32,  Niles 25
Niles came up short against Portage Central, falling to the Mustangs 32-25. Leading by one after the first quarter, Central outscored the Vikings by seven in the second quarter. That nine point deficit proved too much for Niles to overcome. Niles got a game high 12 points from Alycia Patterson. Abby Long led Central with nine points.

Sturgis 62,  Dowagiac 29
Dowagiac fell behind early and couldn’t make it up as they fell to Sturgis 62-29. The Trojans led by nine after one quarter and extended their advantage to 15 at the half. Amiyah Smith finished with 15 points in the loss for the Chieftains.

Hartford 53,  Marcellus 35
After trailing by three at the end of the first quarter, Hartford pulled away for a 53-35 win over Marcellus. The Indians were led by AJ Jackson with 18 points and ten rebounds. Jessica Cortes added 12 points and six assists for Hartford with Cora Wesaw finishing with 12 points and four steals. The Lady Indians improved to 3-0 on the season.

Lawrence 52,  Galesburg-Augusta 44
Lawrence earned its second win of the season as they got by Galesburg-Augusta 52-44. Kaytlyn Tidey netted 22 points for the Lady Tigers, Jasmine Hoffman added 13.

Mattawan 42,  Loy Norrix 38
Mattawan used a 14-0 run in the second quarter to get by Loy Norrix 42-38. The Knights came back with a furious fourth quarter rally, but fell just short. Natalie Foster once again led Mattawan with a game high 17 points and 11 rebounds.
