Lake Michigan Catholic took two from New Buffalo in BCS play. Joe Juza pitched five strong innings in game one as Catholic came away with a 6-1 victory. Joe DeFay collected two hits for the Lakers while Andrew Kangas and Matt Cutter each drove in two runs.
Catholic earned an 11-3 win in game two. The Lakers got another solid effort on the mound as Jack Marszalec picked up the victory. Juza and Cutter each had two hits and an R.B.I. “Our defense was phenomenal, two errors in 12 innings” Catholic coach Doug Wall praised. “Joe and Jack pitched real well, only gave up 8 hits in two games!”

Lawrence 8, Benton Harbor 1
Lawrence 12, Benton Harbor 2
Lawrence swept a non-conference doubleheader from Benton Harbor. Lawrence pulled away with three runs in the fifth inning of game one to earn an 8-1 win. Derek Gribler picked up the win on the mound while Allante Coates suffered the loss.
In game two, Lawrence plated four runs in the first inning on their way to a 12-2 win. Joey Rokos drove in three runs for Lawrence. Robert Pelaez earned the win on the mound, Tommie Miller took the loss.

SOFTBALL
Lake Michigan Catholic 24, New Buffalo 2
Lake Michigan Catholic 17, New Buffalo 4
Lake Michigan Catholic swept a BCS doubleheader from New Buffalo. The Lakers erupted for 13 runs in the fourth inning to win game one 24-2. Lauren Goodell picked up the victory, striking out seven in four innings. Amy Broderick collected four hits for Catholic.
Lauren Goodell also picked up the win in game two as the Lakers upended the Bison 17-4. Maddie McLoughlin and Erin Bruce each had three hits for Catholic.

Grace Christian 14, Michigan Lutheran 11
Grace Christian 7, Michigan Lutheran 5
Grace Christian took two from Michigan Lutheran. Down 10-1 after four innings, the Patriot scored four runs in the fifth, six in the sixth, and three in the seventh to take the 14-11 win in game one. Jaidyn Hutsell picked up the victory in the circle while Kayla Rosenbaum suffered the loss.
In game two, Grace held on for a 7-5 victory. The Titans fought back with two runs in the bottom of the sixth but fell just short of earning a split. Kelsey Smith picked up the win for the Patriots, Kayla Rosenbaum took the loss for the Titans.
