Story by Jacob Holmes:

Michigan

The University of Michigan athletic department announced that it plans to remove the jerseys of the Michigan Football Legends from the football field. The jerseys of Gerald Ford (#48), Tom Harmon (#98), Desmond Howard (#21), Ron Kramer (#87), Bennie Oosterbaan (#47) and the Wistert brothers (#11) will all be retired in a ceremony on Nov. 28 when Michigan plays Ohio State.

Michigan State

Michigan State junior tailback Delton Williams will rejoin the Spartans on Aug. 14, after the team begins fall drills. Williams was suspended indefinitely before spring drills after being arrested on the misdemeanor charge of brandishing a firearm in public during a traffic dispute. Williams also violated a Michigan State ordinance by having a weapon on campus. Williams will rejoin the team without his scholarship being reinstated and with the possibility of a multi-game suspension.

Notre Dame

The Irish haven’t made any big recruiting moves in the past week, but they have set their sights on some possible new recruits for future seasons. Wide receiver Damian Alloway visited Notre Dame and was very impressed with what he saw. Alloway hasn’t verbally committed yet, but it’s very likely that he will. Class of 2017 recruit Josh Lugg, the No. 27 offensive tackle in the country, visited Notre Dame for a second time and was also impressed. Lugg has received offers from many schools including Michigan State, Tennessee and Wisconsin among others.
