Jaidyn Hutsell of Grace Christian High School Softball is Berrien County’s Student Athlete of the Week for the week of April 17, 2016. In wins against Michigan Lutheran, Cassopolis, Hillsdale, Holland, and Hanover-Horton, Jaiden batted .619 in 28 at bats. She collected five doubles, two home runs, 17 RBIs, and 12 runs scored. She also pitched 37 innings allowing just nine runs and 34 hits while striking out 70.
Jaidyn is also a member of the Choir, Patriots In Action, and Buddies In Christ. In the classroom, she carries a 3.26 grade point average.
Jaidyn is the daughter of Rodney and Kristina Hutsell of Coloma.
Other finalists for the week were Morgan Wagner of Coloma Softball, Laina Young of St. Joe Track, and Sarah McCoy and Andrea Ives of Lake Michigan Catholic Soccer.
