TUESDAY’S RESULTS

BASEBALL
St. Joe 19, Benton Harbor 2 – Game 1 (3 innings)
The Bears set the tone early with 11 runs in the 1st inning. Bobby Nate went 3-3 at the plate with two RBIs and three runs scored for St. Joe. Hudson Lange, Benson Holleman, Caleb Garey, Eli Coar, and Phoenix Izokaitis each added two hits for the Bears. Devin Perkins was 1-1 at the plate with an RBI for Benton Harbor. Phoenix Izokaitis picked up the win on the mound for St. Joe.
St. Joe 22, Benton Harbor 0 – Game 2 (3 innings)
The Bears started strong again with a 17 run 1st inning. Bobby Nate was 3-3 at the plate once again with three RBIs and two runs scored. Cole Toney also drove in three runs while Alex Hicks, Vincent Tedesco, August Barnes each drove in two. Benton Harbor was limited to two hits, one each from Kentrell Pullian and Rynold Collins. Chase Murbin struck out four over three innings in picking up the win for St. Joe.

 

Lakeshore 8, Gull Lake 5 – Game 1
The Lancers opened the game with a four run 1st inning and a three run 2nd. Zach Warren, Riley Adams, Grant Ruddell, Michael Nate, and Lucas Kolessar each drove in runs. On the mound, Noah Chase earned the win and Vaughn Hurdle picked up the save.
Lakeshore 12, Gull Lake 4 – Game 2
Trailing 4-2, Lakeshore scored ten runs in the third inning to put the game away. Lucas Kolessar and Riley Adams each went 2-3 at the plate while Michael Nate went 2-4. Zach Warren finished with three RBIs for Lakeshore. Warren also went 6.1 innings on the mound in picking up the win.

 

Berrien Springs 14, South Haven 4 – Game 1
The Shamrocks scored nine runs in the 4th inning to put the game away. Tyler Ewalt led Berrien Springs with three hits and five RBIs. Kaleb Bodfish drove in two runs in the loss for the Rams. Ewalt earned the win on the mound for the Shamrocks.
South Haven 15, Berrien Springs 0 – Game 2
The Rams opened the game with an eight run 1st inning and then added five more in the 2nd and two in the 5th. Kaleb Bodfish and Anders Johnston both drove in three runs. Bodfish three five scoreless innings in picking up the win.

 

Buchanan 15, Niles 1 – Game 1
The Bucks were powered by a five run 3rd inning and a seven run 6th. Cade Preissing drove in four runs for Buchanan, Murphy Wegner drove in three, and Macoy West Jack Branch each had two RBIs. Branch allowed just four hits and struck out three in picking up the win for Buchanan. Cade Vota drove in the lone run for Niles.
Buchanan 5, Niles 0 – Game 2
Matthew Hoover tossed a no-hitter and struck out 13 in earning the win for Buchanan. At the plate, he had a double, a triple, and one RBI. Cade Preissing also drove in a run while going 3-4 at the plate. Buchanan improves to 17-2 on the season.

SOFTBALL
Lakeshore 4, Gull Lake 3 – Game 1
The Lancers survived a 7th inning rally buy Gull Lake and held on for the win. The Blue Devils scored a run in the final frame to pull to within one, but the comeback bid ended there. Gianna Kerschbaum allowed just three hits and struck out 12 in picking up the complete game win. Anna Chellman drove in three runs for Lakeshore and scored another.
Lakeshore 15, Gull Lake 1 – Game 2
A seven run 2nd inning and a six run 4th propelled Lakeshore to the win. In the circle, Anna Chellman tossed three hitless innings while striking out four. At the plate, she finished with a single, a double, and two RBIs. Eden Gray collected two hits and four RBIs.

 

Berrien Springs 3, South Haven 2 – Game 1
Olivia Elliott went the distance, striking out six, in picking up the win for the Shamrocks. At the plate, she delivered two hits. Kamryn Holland drove in a run in the loss for the Rams.
Berrien Springs 4, South Haven 3 – Game 2
The Shamrocks scored three runs in the 1st inning and a much needed insurance run in the 2nd to pull it out. Olivia Elliott pitched another seven innings in picking up the win. Jordyn Holland finished with three singles, a triple, and an RBI in the loss for South Haven.

 

Buchanan 11, Niles 1 – Game 1
Leading 3-1, the Bucks broke the game open with seven runs in the 6th inning. Sophia Lozmack picked up the win, recording 12 strikeouts. At the plate, Buchanan got a triple from Hannah Herman and doubles from Kamille Lemon and Hailee Kara.
Niles 12, Buchanan 8 – Game 2
With Buchanan leading 5-2, Niles scored five runs in the 2nd inning one in the 3rd, three in the 4th, and one more in the 5th and held on down the stretch. Sophia Lozmack and Hannah Tompkins both hit a home run in the loss for the Bucks. The Vikings hand Buchanan only its third loss of the season.
