Student Athlete Of The Week – Sept. 16

Will McCoy of Lake Michigan Catholic High School Football is the WSJM Sports Berrien County Student Athlete of the Week for the week of September 4, 2016. In the Lakers’ win over Brandywine, Will rushed for 171 yards and two touchdowns on just three carries. On defense, he turned in ten tackles, a sack, a fumble recovery, and a blocked punt.

Will is also a member of the Interact Club and Rotary Club and has participated in mission trips to the Dominican Republic. In the classroom, he carries a 3.96 grade point average.

Other finalists for the week were Franki Strefling of Buchanan Volleyball, Andrew Kangas of Lake Michigan Catholic Soccer, Cole Sing of Lakeshore Soccer, and Kole Hanke of Bridgman Cross Country.

Will is the son of Richard and Michaelynn McCoy of Stevensville.
