Student Athlete Of The Week – Oct. 14

Ryan Okonski of St. Joseph High School Tennis is the WSJM Sports Berrien County Student Athlete of the Week for the week of October 2, 2016. Ryan won the #1 Singles Regional Championship with straight set wins over Vicksburg, Lakeshore, and Coldwater. With the wins, he improved to 18-5 on the season and in the process, he helped lead the Bears to the Division 3 Team Regional title.

Ryan is also a member of the St. Joe Track team. In the classroom, he carries a 3.79 grade point average.

Ryan is the son of Craig and Cherie Okonski of St. Joseph.

Other finalists for the week were Darren Shearer of Buchanan Football, Kyle Juza of Lake Michigan Catholic Football, and Anna Fischer of St. Joe Cross Country.
