Anthony Tolliver scored 12 and had six rebounds off the bench. The Jazz cut the lead to 88-87 on Rudy Gobert’s floater, but the Pistons responded with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope’s layup and a jumper from Jackson with 1:08 left in the game. Panthers coach Ron Rivera says All-Pro linebacker Thomas Davis has undergone surgery on his broken right forearm and adds that Davis is expected to play in the Super Bowl. NFL – Broncos will wear road whites in SB50
The Broncos have chosen to wear their white road uniforms in Super Bowl 50 against the Carolina Panthers. Denver wore its white uniforms in its last Super Bowl win, 34-19 over Atlanta 17 years ago. NCAA Basketball – Notre Dame’s Jackson out vs. Syracuse with hamstring injury
Notre Dame leading scorer Demetrius Jackson will miss Thursday’s game at Syracuse with an injured right hamstring. Coach Mike Brey said Monday that Jackson will travel with the 25th-ranked Irish (14-5, 5-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) but won’t play against the Orange (13-8, 3-5). Brey says Jackson also may miss Sunday’s game against Wake Forest (10-9, 1-6). Brey says hamstring injuries can be tricky and he doesn’t want to bring Jackson back too quickly. Jackson sustained the injury in the opening minutes of a 76-49 victory over Boston College on Saturday. He is 10th in the ACC in scoring at 16.6 points and tied for second in assists at 5.0 per game. Brey says an MRI on Monday showed no further damage to the hamstring.
