Bulls 102, Bucks 98 – Jimmy Butler scores 25 points, Bulls hold off Bucks 102-98
Jimmy Butler scored 25 points on 10-of-11 shooting, Pau Gasol had 16 points and eight rebounds and the Chicago Bulls held off a second-half surge by the Milwaukee Bucks for a 102-98 win Sunday night.  Butler had six points and an assist in the final 3:45, when the Bucks had narrowed a 19-point deficit to one at 87-86.  Justin Holiday hit a tough jumper from the corner with 1:15 left and later grabbed a defensive rebound on a missed finger roll by Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo with 43.9 seconds to go. The Bulls kept pace with Indiana for the eighth and final spot in the Eastern Conference playoff race. They were two games back of the Pacers when play started Sunday.  Antetokounmpo scored a career-high 34 points, while Jabari Parker added 24 for Milwaukee.

Pacers 92, Knicks 87 – George hits go-ahead shot, Pacers edge Knicks to tie for 7th
Paul George returned from an injured ankle to make the tiebreaking jumper with 23.6 seconds left, and the Indiana Pacers beat the New York Knicks 92-87 on Sunday night to tie for seventh place in the Eastern Conference. The Pacers blew an 18-point lead in the second half against a Knicks team missing its two best scorers, but recovered to join Detroit at 41-36 and stay two games ahead of ninth-place Chicago. George finished with 20 points and nine rebounds, returning to the game midway through the fourth quarter after the Pacers had said he was questionable to play further because of a sore left ankle. Sasha Vujacic scored 21 points for the Knicks, who rested Carmelo Anthony and had fellow starters Kristaps Porzingis and Jose Calderon already out with injuries. Arron Afflalo added 15 points.

Blackhawks 6, Bruins 4 – Kane hat trick leads Blackhawks past Bruins 6-4
Patrick Kane had three goals and an assist as the Chicago Blackhawks raced to a six-goal lead in the second period before hanging on for a 6-4 win over the Boston Bruins on Sunday. Kane’s scoring spree gave him 100 points for the first time in his nine-year career. The win was career No. 800 for Chicago coach Joel Quenneville. Kane, the NHL’s leading scorer, was clicking with linemates Artemi Panarin and Artem Anisimov early and often in the club’s fourth win it its last five games. Panarin had a goal and three assists, while Anisimov added a goal and two assists. Patrice Bergeron had two goals and an assist for the Bruins. He and David Pastrnak scored 11 seconds apart late in the second period. Bruins starting goalie Tuukka Rask was replaced early in the second after allowing a barrage of goals. Brad Marchand scored on a deflection midway through the third to cut it to 6-4, but Chicago hung on

NHL – Blackhawks goalie Crawford eyes return
Injured Chicago Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford should be back for the playoffs, and could return before the end of the regular-season. Coach Joel Quenneville said the team feels like “he’s turned the corner and is heading in the right direction. Crawford has been out with an upper-body injury since March 16, and missed his ninth consecutive game on Sunday. Chicago has four games left before the playoffs. Before Sunday’s game against the Bruins, Crawford skated and took practice shots from goaltending coach Jimmy Waite for the second straight day. Crawford has a career-high 35 wins this season, along with 2.32 goals against average and .926 save percentage that rank him among league leaders.

NCAA Football – Notre Dame CB Watkins has surgery for broken left arm
Notre Dame cornerback Nick Watkins will miss the final two weeks of spring practice after undergoing surgery for a broken left arm. The university said Sunday the 6-foot-1, 200-pound defensive back from DeSoto, Texas, underwent successful surgery Saturday night after being injured during practice earlier in the day. He is competing for a starting job. Watkins played in 12 games last season, making his first start against Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl, with three tackles and a pass breakup. He played in 12 games last season, finishing with eight tackles. As a freshman in 2014, Watkins played primarily on special teams.

Morgan Tuck scored 21 points to help UConn rout Oregon State 80-51 in record fashion Sunday night in the women’s Final Four. The 29-point victory was the biggest margin of victory in women’s Final Four history.  It was UConn’s 74th consecutive victory. That’s the second-longest winning streak in NCAA and school history.

Syracuse 80, Washington 59
Alexis Peterson scored 18 points to help Syracuse roll past Washington 80-59 and into their first women’s national championship game. Washington was led by Talia Walton with 29 points and eight 3-pointers. Syracuse took a 23-12 lead after one quarter, extended the lead to 39-20 midway through the second quarter and never let the Huskies get within single digits again.

NCAA Hockey – Berenson To Coach U-M Hockey For 33rd Season
Red Berenson will return for his 33rd season coaching the Michigan Wolverines hockey team.  The 76-year-old announced he will be back for at least one more season at the team’s postseason banquet yesterday.  Berenson had thought this past season would be his last, but said the success of last year was inspiring, and he’s not ready to retire yet.

NASCAR – Kyle Busch wins at Martinsville
Kyle Busch finished first in the Sprint Cup race in Martinsville, Virginia. He led 352 of the 500 laps in a commanding performance.  He pulled away on a restart with 11 laps to go and outran AJ Allmendinger to the finish. The rest of the top five included Kyle Larson, Austin Dillon and Brad Keselowski.
