WEDNESDAY’S RESULTS

SOCCER DISTRICT OPENERS
Lakeshore 8, Niles 0
The Lancers got three goals from Jennah White and two from Lindsey Yack. Ellie Carlisle added a goal and two assists. Elliott de la Fort and Cameron Garber also scored for Lakeshore. Elana Mitchell finished with three saves in goal for the Lancers.

 

Watervliet 3, Covert 0
Jazmine Moron scored twice for the Panthers with Yvette Alvarado adding a goal and an assist. Watervliet also got an assist from Erika Nykamp.

 

Paw Paw 3, Edwardsburg 1
Jenna Stowasser scored Edwardsburg’s lone goal, assisted by Macey Laubach.

BASEBALL
Lakeshore 5, Loy Norrix 0 – Game 1
Riley Adams tossed a complete game one-hitter in leading the Lancers. Michael Nate drove in two of Lakeshore’s five runs.
Lakeshore 14, Loy Norrix 5 – Game 2
The Lancers set the tone early with three runs in the 1st inning and four in the 2nd. They collected 18 hits in the game along with 12 stolen bases, including three each from Riley Adams and Trevor Griffiths.

 

Lakeview 6, St. Joe 3 – Game 1
The Spartans jumped out to an early lead with two runs in the 2nd inning and three in the 3rd, and managed to hang on from there. Caleb Garey went 2-3 at the plate, stole a base, and scored a run in the loss for the Bears. Andrew Barlow and Owen Kelley each drove in a run for St. Joe.
Lakeview 12, St. Joe 2 – Game 2
The Spartans opened with three runs in the first inning on their way to the doubleheader sweep. Lakeview’s Kooper Ethridge held the Bears to just four hits. Troy Pratley drove in a run in the loss for St. Joe.

 

Vicksburg 21, Watervliet 0
The Bulldogs erupted for 14 runs in the 1st inning and added seven in the 2nd. Watervliet was limited to just one hit, a double from Andrew Chisek.

 

Buchanan 15, Three Rivers 0 – Game 1
The Bucks were powered by an 11 run 3rd inning. Murphy Wegner led the offensive attack going 2-3 with a triple and four RBIs. Macoy West allowed just two hits over four innings in picking up the win.
Buchanan 10, Three Rivers 1 – Game 2
The Bucks opened with a two run 1st inning on their way to completing the doubleheader sweep. Deagan Huffman went 4-4 at the plate with three RBIs with Jack Branch going 2-3 with four RBIs. Drew Glavin struck out five and only walked one in earning the win on the mound.

SOFTBALL
Lakeshore 17, Loy Norrix 0 – Game 1
Jossalyn Schmaltz led the Lakeshore offensive attack with a double, a triple, and four RBIs. Gianna Kerschbaum and Hannah Stankiewcz each drove in two runs. Kerschbaum allowed just one hit and struck out eight in earning the win.
Lakeshore 16, Loy Norrix 2 – Game 2
Already leading 3-0, an 11 run 3rd inning put the game away for the Lancers. Lakeshore got two hits each from Gianna Kerschbaum, Jossalyn Schmaltz, Eden Gray, and Pallas Dominion. Avery Arwood picked up the win in the circle.

 

River Valley 17, Eau Claire 4 – Game 1
River Valley took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st inning. Eau Claire came back to tie it with three runs in the top of the 2nd. The Mustangs then responded with 14 runs over the next three innings to pull away. Macey Springer led River Valley with three hits and five RBIs. Ali Ferry and Kenya Perez-Fernandez each drove in a run for Eau Claire. Hailey Hauch tossed five innings in picking up the win for the Mustangs.
River Valley 16, Eau Claire 0 – Game 2
The Mustangs scored 11 runs in the 1st inning and five in the 2nd to help bring an early end to the game. Macey Springer, Hailey Hauch, and Alexis McCarty each drove in three runs. Eau Claire was limited to just two hits, singles from Kayla Ferry and Julia Kurland. Hauch got the game two win as well, striking out six.

 

Hartford 4, Colon 0 – Game 1
Rylee Deckard led the Indians offensively driving three of the four runs on two hits. In the circle, Karly Manning went the distance, allowing just one hit and striking out ten in picking up the win.
Hartford 12, Colon 4 – Game 2
Leading 3-2 after one inning, Hartford pulled away with three runs in the 3rd inning, two in the 4th, and four in the 6th. Lindsey Goodson collected four RBIs for the Indians. Karly Manning struck out 16 over seven innings in picking up the win.
