WEDNESDAY’S RESULTS

BASEBALL
Portage Northern 15, Lakeshore 0 – Game 1 (3 innings)
The Huskies put the game away early with 12 runs in the first inning. Lakeshore’s offense was limited to one hit.
Lakeshore 5, Portage Northern 4 – Game 2
Trailing by one, the Lancers scored twice in the 7th inning to pull it out and earn a split of the doubleheader. Trevor Griffiths lined a hit into right fielder to drive in Zach Warren with the winning run. Warren pitched an inning of relief in picking up the win.

SOFTBALL
Lakeshore 12, Portage Northern 2 – Game 1
Leading 4-1, the Lancers put the game away with a seven run 4th inning. The Lakeshore offense was highlighted by an Anna Prosser grand slam. Anna Chellman earned the win in the circle.
Lakeshore 10, Portage Northern 6 – Game 2
Trailing 4-3, Lakeshore erupted with seven runs in the 6th inning held on from there. Shelby Grau and Pallas Dominion each drove in two runs in the inning. Jossalyn Schmaltz also finished with two RBIs in the game. Anna Chellman picked up the win in relief.

 

Watervliet 16, Constantine 2 – Game 1
The Panthers dominated at the plate, collecting 18 hits. Sammy Dietz, MJ Flowers, Jaylie Querfurth and Addy Riley each collected three hits. Grace Chisek drove in six runs. Hannah Hart picked up the win in the circle.
Watervliet 11, Constantine 3 – Game 2
Jaylie Querfurth led Watervliet at the plate with three hits. Ellie Golden had two triples and four RBIs. Haiden Edelberg allowed just three hits over five innings in picking up the win.

SOCCER
Lakeview 2, Lakeshore 1
Kiya Collins scored the Lancers’ lone goal. Mackenzie Perry scored twice for Lakeview.

 

Lake Michigan Catholic 4, Niles 1
Catholic found the back of the net three times in the first half to take control of the match early. Ellen Howard finished with a goal and an assist for the Lakers. Catholic also got goals from Nora Proos, Hattie Latham, and Maggie Tidey. Sydney Skarbek scored the lone goal for Niles. In goal, the Lakers got five saves from Claire Jollay and three from Chloe Mills. Renee Franco turned back six shots for Niles.

 

Michigan Lutheran 3, Berrien Springs 1
Lutheran got two goals from Ellie Primerano and one from Natalie Ritter.

 

Lawton 2, Watervliet 1
The Blue Devils scored in the closing seconds to pull out the victory. Danyel Munson scored the Panthers’ lone goal, her first of the season. Alex Hays finished with 12 saves in goal for Watervliet.

 

Bridgman 4, Buchanan 3
The Bees scored three times in the first half and managed to hold on for the win. Olivia Tomlin scored twice for Bridgman with Dru Dinges and Ellie Kroeze adding single goals. Scottland Philip scored twice for Buchanan. The win lifts Bridgman to 4-2 on the season and 3-1 in the BCS red Division.
