Jack Leman of Edwardsburg High School Cross Country is our WSJM Sports Van Buren/Cass Student Athlete of the Week for the week of September 16, 2018.
Jack started the week placing first in the Eddies’ conference meet against Three Rivers. He ended the week by winning the individual title at Buchanan Red Bud Invitational. He won the race with a time of 17:17. With the wins, he remained undefeated so far this season with three conference dual meet victories and three invitational titles.
Jack serves as Junior Class President while also being a member of the track team, Student Council, and Youth Advisory Council. He’s also earned an academic excellence award and has been recognized for outstanding achievements in Social Studies, Chemistry, and Spanish. In the classroom, he carries a 3.95 grade point average.
Other finalists for the week were Marnie Frost of South Haven Cross Country and Nelly Gonzalez of Bloomingdale Cross Country.
Jack is the son of Tim and Kimra Leman of Edwardsburg.
