Uncertainties Ahead For Blackhawks

The Chicago Blackhawks overachieved in the NHL’s expanded playoffs but still face an offseason of uncertainty.

Goaltender Corey Crawford’s contract is up, rookie 30-goal scorer Dominik Kubalik remains unsigned and the championship core of Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane, Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook is another year older and locked up at big prices for seasons to come.

It’ll be up to general manager Stan Bowman to figure out the goaltending situation and set a direction for the franchise that won the Stanley Cup in 2010, 2013 and 2015 but had missed the playoffs the previous three seasons and would have again if not for special circumstances.
