TUESDAY’S RESULTS

BASEBALL
Portage Central 9, Lakeshore 2 – Game 1
The Mustangs put the game away in the middle innings with three runs in the 3rd inning and four more in the 4th. Trevor Griffiths and Lucas Kolesssar drove in the two Lancer runs.
Portage Central 9, Lakeshore 4 – Game 2
The Mustangs opened the game with five runs in the 1st inning and added insurance runs in the 2nd, 4th, and 6th. Lakeshore scored four runs in the 6th inning but the rally fell short. Noah Chase drove in two of the Lancer runs.

 

Niles 1, Three Rivers 0 – Game 1
Jude Abbadessa tossed a complete game no-hitter for the Vikings. He recorded 14 strikeouts on the day. Niles was limited to just one hit, which came from Gage Vota.
Niles 8, Three Rivers 3 – Game 2
The Vikings scored all eight of their runs over the final three innings to pull it out and complete the doubleheader sweep. Drew Racht struck out 12 over six innings in picking up the win.

 

Lawrence 14, New Buffalo 4
Zach Payment retired all nine hitters he faced to pick up the win for Lawrence. At the plate, Jakob Edson, Clay Beal, Bol Bak and Zach Payment each collected two hits for the Tigers, while Logan Lagrow drove in three runs.

SOFTBALL
Berrien Springs 13, Brandywine 3 – Game 1
Leading 4-3, Berrien Springs scored twice in the bottom of the 3rd inning and went on to score seven runs in the next three innings to pull away. Faith Bartley drove in two runs for the Shamrocks. Ryleigh Molden picked up the win in the circle.
Berrien Springs 15, Brandywine 5 – Game 2
The Shamrocks scored early and often in completing the doubleheader sweep. They opened with two runs in the 1st inning and proceeded to score 13 runs over the next four innings. Maggie Coulston finished with five hits drove in five runs for Berrien Springs, Olivia Teichman added three RBIs. Madison Mervine struck out four over five innings in picking up the win.

 

Bridgman 10, Michigan Lutheran 0 – Game 1
Leading 3-1, the Bees put the game away with a seven run 4th inning.
Bridgman 10, Michigan Lutheran 0 – Game 2
The Bees opened the game with four runs in the 1st inning and it proved to be all they needed. Abi Marquis collected two hits in the loss for Lutheran.

 

River Valley 19, Eau Claire 1 – Game 1 (3 innings)
The Mustangs put the game away early with three runs in the 1st inning and 16 runs in the 2nd. Emily Reitz, Taylor Hall, and Taylor Volstorf each drove in two runs for River Valley. Makayla Freeman singled and scored in the loss for Eau Claire.
River Valley 15, Eau Claire 0 – Game 2 (3 innings)
Mustang pitchers Kursten Smith and Alexis McCarty combined to allow just one Eau Claire hit. At the plate, Macey Springer collected three hits and four RBIs for River Valley.

 

Niles 7, Three Rivers 0 – Game 1
Mya Syson threw a complete game shutout for the Vikings, allowing just two hits and striking out eight. She also went 4-4 at the plate including two doubles.
Niles 6, Three Rivers 4 – Game 2
Three Rivers scored three times in the 1st inning, but Niles responded with five runs over the next three innings. Mya Syson picked up the win in game two as well. At the plate, she delivered a home run.

 

Kalamazoo Central 4, South Haven 2 – Game 1
South Haven scored single runs in the 6th and 7th innings, but couldn’t complete the comeback. Kamryn Holland singled and drove in a run in the loss for the Rams.
Kalamazoo Central 2, South Haven 1 – Game 2
The Maroon Giants limited South Haven to just four hits, including a single and double from Jordyn Holland, and two singles from Olivia Wiley.
