The Detroit Tigers announced this morning that pitcher Joe Nathan has been lost for the rest of the season.
Nathan left a rehab outing Wednesday after pitching less than an inning. Tigers’ manager Brad Ausmus says the 40 year-old felt a “pop” in his elbow while throwing a fastball. Nathan then underwent an MRI which revealed a UCL tear and a flexor pronator tear. He will undergo season-ending surgery at a later date.
