THURSDAY’S RESULTS

BASEBALL
Portage Central 8, St. Joe 2 – Game 1
The Mustangs scored four runs in the top of the 7th inning to secure the win. Carter Vonk and Russell Ebbert drove in St. Joe’s two runs. Zach MacDonald finished with three RBIs for Central. Ryan Dotson picked up the win on the mound for the Mustangs.
Portage Central 6, St. Joe 0 – Game 2
Will Juday allowed just two hits and struck out five over six innings to earn the win for Central. Gavin Brasosky led the Mustangs offensively with four RBIs. Preston Nichols and Owen Kelly both went 1-3 at the plate in the loss for St. Joe.

 

Watervliet 5, Lawton 1 – Game 1
The Panthers were able to put the game away with a three run 4th inning. Andrew Chisek went the distance in picking up the win on the mound, allowing just three hits and striking out nine. At the plate, he collected a double and two singles. Josh Reeves and Tyson Williams also doubled for the Panthers.
Watervliet 15, Lawton 0 – Game 2
The Panthers scored early and often to bring an early end to the game. They opened with eight runs in the 1st inning and added three in the 2nd and four in the 3rd. Tyson Williams picked up the win on the mound and collected a double and two singles at the plate. Wyatt Epple ended with three hits and Andrew Chisek added a triple and a single.

 

Edwardsburg 11, Berrien Springs 1 – Game 1
With the game tied 1-1, the Eddies plated six runs in the 4th inning and three in the 5th to pull away. Connor Ostrander drove in three runs for Edwardsburg. Garrett Brewer drove in the lone run for Berrien Springs. Eli Wideman threw five innings in picking up the win for the Eddies.
Edwardsburg 9, Berrien Springs 7 – Game 2
Berrien Springs opened the game with a five run 1st inning and led 7-1 through six innings. Edwardsburg then rallied with eight runs in the 7th to pull it out. Connor Ostrander and Logan McColley each drove in two runs for Edwardsburg. Junyoung Chung finished with two hits and two RBIs in the loss for the Shamrocks.

 

Decatur 18, Mendon 3 – Game 1
Already leading 8-3, the Raiders scored ten runs in the 6th inning to seal the win. Parker Smith finished with four RBIs for Decatur, Andrew Confer added three. Brandon Bruno picked up the win on the mound.
Decatur 21, Mendon 14 – Game 2
The Raiders got five RBIs from Gavin Boodt in the slugfest with Andrew Confer and Jesus Hurtado each driving in three.

 

Bloomingdale 12, Marcellus 2 – Game 1
The Cardinals came out and scored five runs in the first two innings and went on to score in every frame the rest of the way. Trace Wixom drove in three runs for Bloomingdale. He also struck out 11 over six innings in picking up the win on the mound.
Bloomingdale 12, Marcellus 11 – Game 2
Bloomingdale rallied with five runs in the top of the 7th inning to take a 12-8 lead. Marcellus then scored three runs in the bottom of the inning, but the comeback bid fell just short. Rey Reyna and Daniel Danes each drove in two runs for Bloomingdale.

Berrien Springs 16, Benton Harbor 0 – Game 1
The Shamrocks scored nine runs in the 1st inning on their way to the non-conference win. Zoe Martinez had three hits and four RBIs for Berrien Springs. Olivia Elliott struck out eight over three innings in picking up the win.
Berrien Springs 18, Benton Harbor 1 – Game 2
The Shamrocks started strong again with 16 runs in the 1st inning. Maia Hill drove in four runs for Berrien Springs. Ryleigh Molden picked up the win in the circle for the Shamrocks.

 

Watervliet 15, Lawton 0 – Game 1
The Panthers put an early end to the game with five runs in the 1st inning and ten in the 2nd. Addy Riley turned in a double and two RBIs while Sophia Warsko scored two runs and drove in another. Haiden Edleberg pitched three strong innings to pick up the win.
Watervliet 15, Lawton 0 – Game 2
Leading 4-0, the Panthers scored eight runs in the 3rd inning and three in the 4th to seal the win. Watervliet got a home run and three RBIs from Ellie Golden. Grace Chisek added a single, a double, and two RBIs while Addy Riley finished with two singles and two RBIs. Jaylie Querfurth picked up the win in the circle.

 

Centreville 4, Hartford 2 – Game 1
Centreville scored a run in the 2nd inning and three in the 3rd and held on down the stretch.
Centreville 11, Hartford 5 – Game 2
Holding onto a 5-4 lead, Centreville pushed six runs across the plate in the 5th inning to secure the win. Kaelyn Johnson drove in two runs in the loss for Hartford.

 

Mendon 11, Decatur 1 – Game 1
The Hornets scored three runs in the 1st inning and it proved to be all they needed. Breanna Franks drove in the lone run for Decatur.
Mendon 10, Decatur 2 – Game 2
With the game tied 2-2, Mendon scored eight runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to win it.
