Jarek Hotwagner of New Buffalo High School Basketball is Berrien County’s Student Athlete of the Week for the week of January 25, 2015. In the Bison’s game against Buchanan, Jarek turned in a double-double with 19 points, 12 rebounds, two blocked shots, and two assists. Then against Lake Michigan Catholic, he finished with another double-double with 15 points, ten rebounds, and one blocked shot.
Jarek is also a member of the Bison Football and Baseball teams. In the classroom, he carries a 3.58 grade point average.
Jarek is the son of Rebecca Hotwagner of New Buffalo.
Other finalists for the week were Kalabrya Gondrezick of Benton Harbor Basketball, Robyn Priebe of St. Joe Basketball, and Noah Frantz of Niles Bowling.
