Student Athlete Of The Week – Emily Stringer

Emily Stringer of Lake Michigan Catholic High School Track & Tennis is the WSJM Sports Berrien County Student Athlete of the Week for the week of May 14, 2017. At the Comstock Track Invitational, Emily won the 400 Meter Dash and placed 2nd in the 800 Meter and 3200 Meter Runs. At the Regional Finals, she won the 400 Meter Dash and 800 Meter Run, and ran a leg for the 4th place 4×800 Meter Relay team. At the Tennis Regional Finals, Emily and her playing partner Elena Proos placed 2nd as the Lakers qualified for the State Finals.

Emily is also a member of the Cross Country, Competitive Cheer, and Sideline Cheer teams, and Band. In the classroom, she carries a 4.0 grade point average.

Emily is the daughter of April Mastri and Jim Stringer.

Other finalists for the week were Taylor Simon of Lakeshore Softball, Kara Liles of Watervliet Softball, and Ashley Crowder of Bridgman Softball.
