Jarek Hotwagner of New Buffalo High School Basketball is Berrien 
County’s Student Athlete of the Week for the week of February 21, 2016. In the Bees win over Bridgman, Jarek scored 30 points and grabbed 18 rebounds. He also went over the 1,000 career point mark in the win. He followed that up with ten points, eight rebounds, two blocks, and three steals in a win over Mendon.
Jarek is also a member of the New Buffalo Baseball team. In the classroom, he carries a 3.5 grade point average.
Jarek is the son of Rebecca Hotwagner of New Buffalo.
Other finalists for the week were Kysre Gondrezick of Benton Harbor Basketball and Travis Maddux of New Buffalo Basketball.
