St. Joe 57, Portage Central 53
St. Joe advanced to the Division 1 District Semifinals with a 57-53 win over Portage Central.
Trailing by six after the first quarter, the Bears took a five point lead into the half and led by as many as 14. Jordan Marble poured in a game high 22 points for the Bears, including five 3 pointers. 14 of Marble’s 22 came in the first half. Devon Frenchko and Ben Newland took over in the second half, combining for 16 points after the break.
With the win, St. Joe avenges two regular season losses to the Mustangs. The Bears advance to face Holland Wednesday night at 5:30 in Mattawan.
