The New York Yankees have acquired second baseman Rougned Odor from the Texas Rangers. In exchange for Odor, New York is sending minor league outfielders Antonio Cabello and Josh Stowers to Texas.

The left-handed Odor spent the first seven years of his big-league career with Texas, hitting .237/.289/.439 over 858 career games with 146 home runs. Odor was designated for assignment by Texas on April 1 after failing to make the Rangers Opening Day roster. Texas will absorb close to all of the $27 million owed to Odor. The second baseman is due $12 million this year and another $12 million next year with a $13 million club option in 2023.
