Gabrielle Elliott of Detroit Edison has been named Michigan’s Miss Basketball. Elliott was given the award Friday.
The Mick McCabe Miss Basketball award honors the state’s top senior female basketball player. Elliott received 3,891 points in the voting of Basketball Coaches Association members. East Lansing’s Aaliyah Nye was second and Whitney Sollom of Hartland was third.
The 5-foot-10 Elliott has averaged 22.8 points, 9.1 rebounds 3.8 assists and 3.6 steals. Elliott is the second consecutive Edison player to win the award, following Rickea Jackson. Elliott signed to play at Clemson.
