LM College Men Victorious, Women Fall

 

Lake Michigan College split a doubleheader with Kalamazoo Valley Community College.

The LMC men hung on for a 68-63 win over KVCC. The Red Hawks led by as many as nine in the second half, but saw the Cougars storm back to take a short lived three point lead. Key free throws down the stretch by Michael Bush and Labradford Sebree sealed the win for LMC. Sebree led the Red Hawks, scoring 18 of his game high 26 points in the second half. With the win, the Red Hawks stay atop the MCCAA Western Conference standings with a 5-0 league mark.

In the first game of the night, the Lady Red Hawks fell to KVCC 69-65. Playing short handed, LMC erased a ten point deficit to take a seven point lead in the second half, but the Cougars proved to be too much down the stretch. Tammy Lee and Shalay Stevens each had 12 points for the Red Hawks. Mallory Sewell finished with a game high 22 for KVCC. With the loss, LMC falls to 4-1 in the MCCAA Western Conference. KVCC improves to 6-0 in league play.
