Lancers Fall In State Finals

Lakeshore fell short of capturing the Class B Boys’ Basketball State Championship, dropping a 61-47 decision to Detroit Henry Ford Saturday night at MSU’s Breslin Center.

Bball-boys 23Henry Ford led by 14 at the half, but the Lancers outscored the Trojans 15-7 in the third quarter to pull to within six.  Henry Ford started to pull away again in the fourth, only to see Lakeshore rally once again to close the gap.

Free throws proved to be key down the stretch though, as the Trojans connected on 17 of 23 trips to the charity stripe in the fourth quarter.

Braden Burke paced Lakeshore with a game high 19 points.  Logan Steffes added ten points for the Lancers, Max Gaishin finished with nine, and Gibson Archer and Jake Bushu had nine and two respectively.

Lakeshore finishes the season as Class B Runner-Up with a 20-7 mark.
