Lake Michigan College Sweeps Ancilla

 

Lake Michigan College earned a doubleheader sweep of Ancilla College Wednesday night.

In the men’s game, LMC put three players in double figures with an 85-70 win over the Chargers. LaBradford Sebree led the way with a game high 26 points. Niles grad Alec Brown followed with 18 for the Red Hawks. LMC shot 48 percent from the floor and connected on 17 of 21 free throws in beating Ancilla for the second time this season. With Muskegon’s loss to KVCC, the Red Hawks are back in sole possession of first place in the MCCAA Western Conference at 8-2 in the league and 17-6 on the season.

In the women’s game, Lake Michigan College pulled away to a 14 point halftime lead and ran off with a 98-77 win over the Chargers. Shalay Stevens poured in a game high 21 points and pulled down a game high 17 rebounds for the Lady Red Hawks. Sabrina Trujillo added 20 points for LMC. Defensively, the Red Hawks forced 24 turnovers. LMC improves to 17-6 on the season and 8-2 in the MCCAA Western Conference.
