SOCCER DISTRICT SEMI-FINALS
St. Joe 3, Vicksburg 2
St. Joe advanced to the District Finals with a 3-2 win over Vicksburg. The Bulldogs ran out to an early 2-0 lead, but the Bears then responded with three unanswered goals to pull out the victory. Sydney Rogers, Megan Corbe, and Audrey Filippo each scored for St. Joe with the game winner coming off the foot of Filippo. The Bears will take on Lakeshore for the Division 2 District title Saturday morning at 10:00 at St. Joe’s Upton Middle School.
Lake Michigan Catholic 5, Brandywine 2 2 OT
Lake Michigan Catholic advanced to the Division 4 District Finals with a 5-2 double overtime win over Brandywine. Catholic led 2-1 at the break but the Bobcats found the net once in the second half to tie it and force extra play. After a scoreless first overtime, the Lakers erupted for three goals in the second extra period to pull it out. Andrea Ives and Sarah McCoy each scored twice for the Lakers with Christine Nuter scoring once. Brandywine goals came from Jaleesa Garner and Brianna Gleason. Catholic will face Bridgman Saturday morning at 11:00 at Brandywine for the District title.
