WEDNESDAY’S RESULTS

 

SOCCER DISTRICT OPENERS
St. Joe 3, Sturgis 0
The Bears got a goal and an assist from Jack Pender. Seth Walters and Andrew Loikits also scored for St. Joe with Cameron Dirlam and Lars Razor adding assists. The Bears outshot Sturgis 14-2. Thomas Ashmead had two saves in goal for St. Joe.

 

Coloma 3, Brandywine 0
After a scoreless first half, Lucien Whitaker scored shortly after the break on an assist from Tyler Russell to give Coloma a 1-0 lead. Shortly after that, Cannon Hodges scored on an assist from Luis Olvera-Rodriguez to make it 2-0. Hodges scored his second goal of the night in the 65th minute to give the Comets a 3-0 lead. Wes Seabury preserved the shutout win with eight saves in goal.

 

Watervliet 8, Buchanan 0
The Panthers scored early and often on the way to their first ever soccer district win. Andrew Chisek started the scoring in the 3rd minute. Watervliet then got three goals from Brady Bornas and two from Brennan Bornas. Nathan Isbrecht added a goal and two assists. Abel Villarreal finished with a goal and an assist. Bryan Perez ended the night with three assists.

VOLLEYBALL
New Buffalo 3, Eau Claire 0 (25-7, 25-9, 25-8)
Sophia DeOliveira paced New Buffalo with eight kills and five aces. The Bison also got 12 aces and five kills from Ava Mullen, and six aces and 16 digs from Kelsey Corkan. Emilee Demski led Eau Claire with four kills, two aces, five digs, and two blocks. With the win, New Buffalo improves to 12-0 on the season and 3-0 in the BCS White Division.

 

Niles 3, Buchanan 0 (25-17, 25-20, 27-25)
Marika Ruppart, Jillian Bruckner, and Laura Golubski each had seven kills for Niles. Emma Beckman added 23 assists and Cadence Knight finished with 15 digs. Buchanan got seven kills from Kylie Boller, 25 assists from Claire Shelton, and 12 digs from Hailey Jonatzke.
