THURSDAY
BASEBALL
Mattawan 2, St. Joseph 1 – Game 1 (10 innings)
Brady Neel’s RBI double in the top of the 10th inning lead Mattawan to a 2-1 win over St. Joe. Cam Doornweered pitched all ten inning for the Wildcats in picking up the win. Jake Mavis, Eric Engel, Ben Johanski, Andy Hodge, and Ian Donoho each collected two hits in the loss for the Bears.
St. Joseph 9, Mattawan 3 – Game 2
St. Joe scored seven runs in the 1st inning on its way to a 9-3 win over Mattawan in game two of the doubleheader. Daniel Abbgy picked up the win on the mound. At the plate, Jake Mavis was 2-4 with two runs scored for the Bears, while Joshua Dunlop and Collin Morrow each drove in two runs.

Coloma 4, Saugatuck 1 – Game 1
Justin Pullins tossed a one-hitter as Coloma defeated Saugatuck 4-1. Pullins also struck out seven in six innings in picking up the win. The Comets scored three runs in the 2nd inning and it proved to be all they needed.
Coloma 3, Saugatuck 2 – Game 2
Coloma rallied with two runs in the bottom of the 7th inning to pull out a 3-2 win over Saugatuck in game two of their doubleheader. Blake Dunn suffered the loss for the Indians, despite striking out 12 Comets and allowing just five hits.

Berrien Springs5, Watervliet 4 – Game 1
Berrien Springs scored four runs in the 3rd inning on their way to a 5-4 win over Watervliet. Ryan Chisek tripled in the loss for the Panthers.
Watervliet 2, Berrien Springs 1 – Game 2
Cameron Rendo and Cubby Aldrich combined for a no-hitter as Watervliet got by Berrien Springs 2-1 to earn a doubleheader split with the Shamrocks. Rendo picked up the win with Aldrich earning the save. Kyler Kiekenapp had two hits for the Panthers.

SOFTBALL
Buchanan 4, Portage Northern 3 – Game 1
A strong start lead Buchanan to a 4-3 win over Portage Northern. The Bucks scored one run in the top of the 1st inning and three in the top of the 2nd. Sammi Luzadre picked up the win in the circle to run her record to 10-3. Offensively, Jayla Bibbs doubled for Buchanan.
Buchanan 3, Portage Northern 2 – Game 2
Buchanan completed a doubleheader sweep of Portage Northern with a 3-2 win over the Huskies. Maddie Hemphill allowed just four hits while striking out four in picking up the win. The Bucks broke a 2-2 tie with a run in the 7th to pull it out.

These matches will be completed as follows: 2 Doubles tomorrow (Sat.) as Lakeshore faces Marshall at Lakeshore HS with a 10:00am start. The 3 doubles match between BC Harper Creek and Edwardsburg will be played at Vicksburg HS today (Fri.) beginning at 4pm.
