TUESDAY’S RESULTS…

BASEBALL
Portage Northern 14, St. Joe 1 – Game 1
Michael Garritano was 2-2 at the plate in the loss for the Bears and drove in St. Joe’s only run. Parker Brey ended with five RBIs for Northern.
St. Joe 2, Portage Northern 2 – Game 2 suspended

 

Lawrence 1, Watervliet 0 – Game 1
With the game tied 0-0 through 6½ innings, Ethan Payment drove in the game’s only run in the bottom of the 7th to win it for Lawrence. Dylan Matheny tossed a complete game one-hitter in picking up the win for Lawrence.
Lawrence 8, Watervliet 2 – Game 2
Both teams scored twice in the 1st inning with Lawrence going on to score four runs in the 3rd to pull away. Alan Macyauski drove in three runs for Lawrence. Cubby Aldrich and Andrew Chisek both had two doubles in the loss for Watervliet. On the mound, Ethan and Zach Payment combined to hold the Panthers to only the two 1st inning runs.

 

Buchanan 3, Schoolcraft 1 – Game 1
A three run 7th inning lifted the Bucks to the 3-1 win. Dedrick Adkerson doubled and drove in a run for Buchanan. Jacob Hoover went five innings in picking up the win on the rubber.
Schoolcraft 6, Buchanan 5 – Game 2
Trailing 4-3 early, Schoolcraft scored two runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning and one in the 3rd to earn the win. Macoy West had two hits and an RBI in the loss for Buchanan. With the doubleheader split, Buchanan is now 16-7 on the season.

SOFTBALL
St. Joe 12, Portage Northern 1 – Game 1
Already leading 4-1, St. Joe broke the game open with four runs in the 4th inning and four more in the 5th. Taylor Garey, Ellie Haunhorst, Courtney Farrish, and Sophie Pavese each drove in two runs for the Bears. St. Joe got two home runs apiece from Haunhorst and Farrish. Pavese pitched five innings in picking up the win.
St. Joe 18, Portage Northern 1 – Game 2
The Bears put the game away early with eight runs in the 1st inning followed by ten in the 2nd. Hannah Bachteal had two home runs and eight RBIs for St. Joe. Izzy Rothrock earned the win in the circle.

 

Watervliet 5, Lawrence 3 – Game 1
The Panthers rallied with two runs in the 6th inning and two more in the 7th to score the comeback win. A Celina Klimkiewicz 7th inning triple was the game winning hit as it drove in two runs for Watervliet. Brenna Langston also drove in two runs for the Panthers. Klimkiewicz also picked up the win in the circle.
Watervliet 15, Lawrence 1 – Game 2
After both teams scored a run in the 2nd inning, Watervliet erupted with eight runs in the 4th inning and six more in the 5th. Emile Gitersonke finished with two singles, a home run, and four RBIs to lead the Panthers at the plate. Hannah Hart earned the win in the circle.

 

River Valley 5, Kalamazoo Christian 4 – Game 1
The Mustangs broke a 4-4 tie with a run in the bottom of the 7th inning to score the walk-off win. Tiffany Hyatt drove in two of River Valley’s five runs. Madi Vollman went the distance in picking up the win for the Mustangs in the circle.
Kalamazoo Christian 9, River Valley 6 – Game 2
A three run 7th inning put the game away for Christian. River Valley scored twice in the bottom of the 7th but couldn’t finish the comeback. Tiffany Hyatt finished with four hits in the loss for the Mustangs.

 

Hartford 12, Saugatuck 7 – Game 1
The Indians were powered by an 11 run 2nd inning. Hartford scattered 11 hits in the game, two each for Destiny Chacon and Cecilia Perales. Karly Manning picked up the win in the circle.
Hartford 12, Saugatuck 2 – Game 2
The scoring started for Hartford with a 1st inning bases loaded triple from Mikenzie Chambers. The Indians collected 16 hits in game two, including three each from Megan Nelson and Regan Sinclair. Descenya Rodarte earned the win in the circle.

 

Decatur 7, Cassopolis 4 – Game 1
The Raiders opened the game with a three run 1st inning and ended it with a three run 7th. Saray Gasca was 3-4 at the plate with two RBIs. Regan Rose got the win in the circle for Decatur.
Decatur 5, Cassopolis 1 – Game 2
With the game tied 1-1, Decatur scored four runs in the top of the 7th inning to pull it out. Makenna Keller hit a home run, drove in two runs, and scored two runs for the Raiders. Regan Rose allowed just three hits in picking up the win.

Caroline Miota scored twice for the Lakers. Catholic also got goals from Kathleen Krieger, Maggie Tidey, Elena Proos, and Chloe Mills. The win lifts the Lakers to 13-3 on the season.
