SOCCER DISTRICT SEMIFINALS
Division 2 at St. Joseph
Mattawan 2, Lakeshore 1 – Shootout
The Lancers and Wildcats played even through regulation and overtime with Mattawan winning in a shootout 4-2. Emily Waning scored once in the second half and once in the shootout in the loss for the Lancers. Jenna Bussott scored once in regulation and once in the shootout to lead Mattawan.

St. Joe 8, Niles 0
Lindsey Adent had a goal and two assists to lead the Bears. St. Joe also got goals from Elle Pavlopoulos, Megan Corbe, Kaitlyn Yack, Julia Adent, Kate Gersonde, Mackenzie Hoecherl, and Hannah Pallo.

Coloma 8, Buchanan 0
The Comets got three goals from both Grace Gagliardo and Cali Grenon. Emma Vandermolen added a goal and three assists.

BASEBALL DISTRICT OPENERS
Division 4 at Michigan Lutheran
Michigan Lutheran 7, Lake Michigan Catholic 4
The Titans rallied with four runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to pull out the win. Offensively, Daniel Graebel had a double and a single for Lutheran. Christian Monconduit doubled in the loss for Catholic. Alex Ritter picked up the win on the mound for the Titans.

 

Division 3 at Bloomingdale
Coloma 5, Bloomingdale 2

 

Division 3 at Constantine
Buchanan 6, Brandywine 1
Kade Hearington went 2-4 at the plate for Buchanan with two RBIs. Cam Lorance went 3-4, including a double, while driving in a run. Jacob Hoover pitched six innings in picking up the win. He allowed just one run on two hits while striking out seven.

SOFTBALL DISTRICT OPENERS
Division 2 at South Haven
Lakeshore 2, Edwardsburg 0
Gianna Kerschbaum led the Lancers to the district win, pitching a complete game shutout, allowing just three hits while striking out ten. Lakeshore’s offense came in the 1st inning courtesy of a Meghan Younger single which drove in both runs.

The Bucks had a 6-0 lead through five innings. Berrien Springs scored four runs in the top of the 6th, but the rally fell short. Brooke Atkinson finished with three hits for Buchanan while Sophia Lozmack picked up the win in the circle. Olivia Elliott drove in two runs in the loss for the Shamrocks.

 

Division 3 at Lawton
Lawton 9, Kalamazoo Hackett 0

 

Division 4 at Decatur
Lawrence 9, Cassopolis 0
The Tigers broke the game open with a seven run 6th inning. Erika Gonzalez went 3-3 at the plate with two RBIs and two runs scored. Valerie Norris also drove in two runs for Lawrence. Norris also picked up the win in the circle, allowing just two hits while striking out 14 over seven innings.

BASEBALL REGULAR SEASON GAMES
Portage Central 3, St. Joe 0 – Game 1
The Mustangs scored three runs in the top of the 3rd inning and it proved to be all they needed. Central’s Gavin Brasoky, Bronson Wyman, and Aidan Eichman combined on the mound to limit St. Joe to just three wits, with Wyman picking up the win.
Portage Central 6, St. Joe 4 – Game 2
Leading 4-3, the Mustangs sealed the win with two runs in the top of the 6th inning. Michael Garritano went 2-4 at the plate with an RBI in the loss for St. Joe.

 

Lawrence 5, Hartford 1
Dylan Matheny pitched a complete game one hitter in picking up the win for the Tigers. At the plate, Zach Payment collected two RBIs while Chris Schuman went 3-4 with an RBI.

 

Decatur 6, Comstock 5 – Game 1 (8 innings)
Travis Hunsberger drove in two runs to help lead the Raiders to the extra inning win. Ben Cerven pitched a scoreless 8th inning in picking up the win.
Decatur 3, Comstock 2 – Game 2
Jakob Southworth allowed just one run on one hit over four innings in picking up the win on the mound for the Raiders. Southworth and Justin Gale each drove in a run for Decatur.
