MONDAY’S RESULTS…

SOCCER
Michigan Lutheran 7, Lake Michigan Catholic 1
The Titans came out strong in the second half, scoring six of their seven goals after the break. AJ Deweerd scored three goals for Lutheran, Alex Ritter added two. Andrew Glotzbach scored the lone goal for Catholic.

 

Watervliet 7, Saugatuck 1
Brennan Bornas opened the scoring for the Panthers with a goal in the sixth minute. Saugatuck tied the match with a goal in the 32nd minute, but Watervliet recaptured the lead as Nathan Isbrecht scored just before the half. The Panthers pulled away in the second half with three goals from Brennan Bornas, and one apiece from Brady Bornas and Nathan Isbrecht.

 

Niles 5, Bridgman 0
Dominick Thornton scored two goals and assisted on another for the Vikings. Jackson Shields, Sully Rudolph, and Cade Vota also scored for Niles. In goal, Drew Gourlay earned his first shutout of the season.

 

Hartford 5, Cassopolis 0
Joel Soto and Alan Gonzalez both scored twice for the Indians with Soto also adding an assist.

 

Edwardsburg 7, Otsego 1
Nate Bessinger and Noah Layher both scored twice for the Eddies. Aarong Toms finished with a goal and an assist, with Tye Vargo and Sylas Krueger also scoring for Edwardsburg.

Niles 3, South Bend St. Joseph 2
Niles rallied from a 2-0 deficit to pull out a 3-2 victory over St. Joseph. The Vikings got 12 kills and five blocks from Taylor Bailey. Grace Florkowski added 20 assists, 13 digs, one kill, and one ace as 10th ranked Niles improves to 14-8-8.
