WEDNESDAY
BASEBALL
Lakeview 7, St. Joe 3 – Game 1
St. Joe fell to Lakeview 7-3 in game one of their doubleheader. The Bears took a 3-2 lead with two runs in the bottom of the 5th inning. The Spartans rallied with five runs in the top of the 7th to win it. Jordan Brewer went 3-4 at the plate and Brad King drove in two runs for St. Joe in the loss.
Lakeview 8, St. Joe 1 – Game 2
The Spartans benefitted from another five run inning in game two to post an 8-1 win over the Bears. Lakeview pushed those five runs across the plate in the 5th inning. Lakeview scattered 11 hits while limiting St. Joe to five. Jake Mavis went 2-2 at the plate with an RBI in the loss for St. Joe.

Coloma 7, Buchanan 5 – 9 innings
Coloma overcame five errors in a 7-5 win over Buchanan in a game that went 9 innings. The Comets broke a 5-5 tie with two runs in the top of the 9th which proved to be the difference.

SOFTBALL
Berrien Springs 20, Benton Harbor 4 – Game 1
Berrien Springs defeated Benton Harbor 20-4 in game one of their non-conference doubleheader. With the game tied at two after one inning, the Shamrocks scored seven runs in the 2nd inning and 11 in the third. Jordan Weaver collected three hits and drove in four runs for Berrien Springs.
Berrien Springs 20, Benton Harbor 5 – Game 2
The Shamrocks started strong in game two to defeat Benton Harbor 20-5. After a six run 1st inning, the Shamrocks put 14 runs on the board in the 2nd. Ashley Pompey singled and doubled while driving in three runs for Berrien Springs.

Buchanan 7, Coloma 5 – Game 1
Buchanan got by Coloma 7-5 in game one of a doubleheader. Sammi Luzadre picked up the win, allowing nine hits over 7 innings. Emma Schmidt had four singles and a double and scored two runs for the Bucks. Jayla Bibbs also scored twice for Buchanan.
Buchanan 10, Coloma 1 – Game 2
The Bucks picked up a 10-1 win over Coloma in game two. Jayla Bibbs, Emma Schmidt, Sammi Luzadre, and Ali Kyles each scored two runs for Buchanan. Maddie Hemphill pitched seven strong innings to pick up the win.

SOCCER
Lake Michigan Catholic 5, New Buffalo 0
Lake Michigan Catholic found the back of the net four times in the 1st on their way to a 5-0 win over New Buffalo. Andrea Ives, Sarah McCoy, Lauren Osborn, Hanna Christensen, and Katie Sullivan each scored for the Lakers. Catholic assists came from Sarah McCoy (2), Andrea Ives (2), and Adriana Nerio.

Fennville 3, Coloma 2
Coloma suffered its first loss of the season as they fell to Fennville 3-2 in SAC play. Grace Gagliardo and Tristin Hicks each picked up a goal and an assist in the loss for the Comets.

Buchanan 1, Comstock 0
Buchanan got a goal from Cora Schau and it was all they needed as the Bucks defeated Comstock 1-0. Buchanan outshot the Colts 24-4 on the day.

Lakeshore won it’s opening match of the season, defeating St. Joe 161-182 at Berrien Hills Golf Club. Freshman Davis Longyear was medalist with a 39. Senior Mitchell Strouts carded a 40, followed seniors Logan Steffes and Perry Melcher with 41.

The Watervliet Boys Track team took first places in 14 of 17 events and scoring an impressive 104 points.
